Praying memory of Bishop Danilo of Budim of blessed repose

With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Pavle of Serbia, and on behalf of His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno, the vicar of the Patriarch served today at a church of the Entrance of the Theotokos into the Temple, at a monastery of the Entrance of the Theotokos in Belgrade, a Holy hierarchal liturgy with the concelebration of six priests and two hierodeacons and deacons. At the end of the liturgy Bishop served a memorial service to Bishop Danilo of Budim of blessed repose.

Blood donation action at the church of Holy Transfiguration in Belgrade

Црква Преображења БеоградA blood donation action was held on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at the presbytery of the Holy Transfiguration of Our Lord on Pashino Brdo in Belgrade, with the blessing of the head and brotherhood of the church, organized by the Choral Society TRANSFIGURATION, in a cooperation with the Blood Transfusion Institute of Serbia. After the Holy Liturgy, a fervent prayer for the sick was held, and at the beautiful churchyard priesthood and present believers could enjoy in a nice chanting of the choir "Transfiguration", led by conductor Bratislav Prokic, followed by the blood donation action.

Primate of Orthodox Church in America to visit Russia

Metropolitan Jonah of All America and Canada elected head of the Orthodox Church in America in November is to arrive in Russia on Saturday, according to a report posted on the Moscow Patriarchate website.

During his visit which will continue until May 4 Metropolitan Jonah will meet with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and visit holy places in Moscow, the Holy Trinity - St. Sergius Laura and the Valaam Monastery. Metropolitan Jonah and Patriarch Kirill will also jointly conduct religious services at Moscow's Christ the Savior Cathedral on April 26 and at the Kremlin's Cathedral of the Assumption on May 3.

Official delegation of representatives of the Russian Federation visits St. Sava Cathedral

On Friday, April 24, 2009 at 10 A.M. , a delegation from the Russian Federation and representatives of this state in Serbia visited St Sava Cathedral. The delegation consisted of: Georgy Poltavchenko, a representative of the President of the Russian Federation, Aleksandar Petropavlovski, an counselor of the representative of the President of the R.F., Aleksandar Konuzin, an ambassador of the Russian Federation in Serbia, Evgeny Lukin and Oleg Buldakov, counselors of the Embassy, Svetlana Shevchenko, an attaché of the Embassy, Zurab Cereteli, a sculpist, Igor Kozlov, a sculptor assistant and Dmitry Malishev,  a director of NIS company.

Representatives of the Bar Association of Thessaloniki in a visit to the Serbian Patriarchate

His Eminence Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, on behalf of  His Holiness Patriarch Pavle of Serbia received today at the Patriarchate Court Manolis Lamdzidis, a president of the Bar Association of Thessaloniki, and Yorgos Kukutsilis, a legal advisor of Patriarch Bartholomew, as well as members of the Head board of the Bar Association.

Representative of Anglican Church visits the Serbian Patriarchate

Today at the Court of the Serbian Patriarchate His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral has received the Revd Donald Reeves, an Anglican priest, a director of the Soul for Europe project, which has been working for ten years in the Republic of Srpska and the BH Federation. After the Paschal greeting, the Revd Donald Reeves conveyed greetings of the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams to Serbian people and the Church, and especially to Serbian Patriarch Pavle and Metropolitan Amfilohije. He has also asked for a blessing of the Serbian Church to go to a mission of peace in Kosovo and Metohija and to work on a reconciliation of population there, with a special wish to visit monasteries: Grachanica, Dechani and the Patriarchate of Pech.
