Archbishops of Greece and Albania meet to discuss Ukrainian issue

His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Albania met in Athens today, discussing the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, reports vimaorthodoxias.gr.

No details on their discussion have been released yet. Leaving the diocesan center in Athens, Abp. Anastasios commented only that he had come to wish Abp. Ieronymos a happy new year.

Christmas celebration in Santiago de Chile

The seventh time since the foundation of the parish of Saint Nicholas of Zhicha in Santiago de Chile the Nativity of Christ was solemnly celebrated. The  solemnity took place in the church of the Nativity of Most Holy Mother of God under the auspices of the Patriarchate of Antioch, where otherwise this international Orthodox community celebrates all the services and performs other parish activities.

Toliara bishop ordained

Bishop Prodromos of Toliara and South Madagascar was ordained to the episcopate Sunday in a service presided over by Patriarch Theodoros of Alexandria and All Africa and attended by the Greek deputy foreign minister responsible for religious affairs, Markos Bolaris.

Bright Celebration of Holy Theophany throughout the Country

Thousands of faithful throughout the country celebrated Theophany in their local churches and by singing the hymn "When you, O Lord, were baptized in Jordan..." headed towards the rivers where the cross would be thrown. The very low temperatures did not prevent many young people from diving into the icy waters to capture the cross and receive its blessing.

Metropolitan Hilarion meets with Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem

On January 10, 2019, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations (DECR), who is on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land made with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, visited the Patriarchate of Jerusalem to meet with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine.
