Serbian Patriarch received representatives of the Movement for the Defense of Kosovo and Metohija

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej  received representatives of the Movement for the Defense of Kosovo and Metohija at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on 7th August 2020.

The representatives of the Movement for the Defense of Kosovo and Metohija presented their programme and activities to His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej in order to keep the southern Serbian province of Kosovo and Metohija a part of the Republic of Serbia. They thanked the Serbian Patriarch for the firm determination of the Serbian Orthodox Church on all issues related to the status of this southern Serbian province, as well as to the existence of the Serbian Orthodox people and their shrines in that province.

A memorial service for the victims of the "Storm" action in the monastery of Krka

His Grace Nikodim, Bishop of Dalmatia, served a memorial service in the Krka Monastery for all the innocent victims of the "Storm" military operation in 1995. The event took place on August 4, 2020.

Patriarch Irinej met with Apostolic Nuncio Luciano Suriani

His Holiness Irinej, Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, received His Excellency Luciano Suriani, Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic of Serbia.

The reception took place at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on August 6, 2020. The reception was attended by Bishop Stefan of Remeziana, vicar Bishop of the Serbian Patriarch; Monsignor Fermin Emilio Sosa Rodriguez, Adviser to the Nunciature; Don Aleksandar Ninkovic, Secretary of the Nunciature; and Deacon Dr. Aleksandar Prascevic, head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch.

Serbian Patriarch met with Archbishop of Belgrade

His Holiness Iinej, Serbian Patriarch, received His Excellency Stanislav Hocevar, Archbishop of Belgrade, at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on August 6, 2020.

The reception was attended by Bishop Stefan, of Remesiana, vicar Bishop of the Serbian Patriarch; Revd. Mihael Sokol, Secretary General of the Archbishop of Belgrade; and Deacon Dr. Aleksandar Prascevic, head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch.

Remembrance Day of all victims and exiled Serbs in the armed operation “Storm” in Croatia

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej officiated a memorial service for the killed Serbs in the armed operation “Storm” in Croatia in 1995. The memorial service was officiated at Sremska Raca, Serbia, on 4thAugust 2020.

The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, unveiled a commemorative plaque on the bridge in Sremska Raca, via which processions of refugees had found refuge in Serbia. The President of Republika Srpska, Mrs Zeljka Cvijanovic, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Mrs Ana Brnabic, His Grace Bishop Vasilije of Srem and His Grace Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla, attended the marking of the Day of Remembrance of the perished and exiled Serbs as well.
