Metropolitan Hrizostom visits the Archives of the Serbian Church

His Eminence Metropolitan Hrizostom of Dabar-Bosnia visited new premises of the Archives of the Serbian Church which was adapted during 2019 in the building of the Saint Sava’s House in Zemun.

For the management and staff of the Archives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the visit of Metropolitan Hrizostom was a great joy and a real spiritual strengthening. As the current regular member of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, but also as a member of several previous convocations, the Metropolitan is very well acquainted with all the efforts to finally place archival material of church-administrative origin inadequate space and gain archival and scientific research dignity, as they deserve.

Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral was interrogated  at the Security Center in Podgorica on the Monday of 22nd June, 2020.

The Hierarch was interrogated by the Police as an alleged organizer of last night's cross procession in Podgorica.

The Metropolitan gave a statement, and a statement from the prosecutor is awaited now. The clergy and the faithful gathered in front of the Security Center were divided into smaller groups, because it was not allowed to gather more than 20 people in front of the Police building. At the last moment, after six hours of detention for an informative conversation, Metropolitan Amfilohije left the building of the Podgorica police.

Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro: The voice of the people heard during prayer processions is the voice of God, because the people assembled there have been waiting for a long time to feel free.

“The people have been assembled in peace, first of all to glorify the name of God and to defend their shrines they had received by tradition from their ancestors, demanding that this government renounces the illegal part of the law on Churches and religious communities which has profaned the dignity of Montenegro, the dignity of the Parliament, the dignity of this people”, said His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral after a procession that he had been leading through the streets of Podgorica on 21st  June 2020.

20th anniversary of the consecration of Bishop Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla

On 19th June 2020, on the feast of Venerable Bessarion the Wonderworker, it has been 20 years since the consecration of His Grace Bishop Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla.

On that occasion, His Eminence Metropolian Porfirije of Zagreb and Ljubljana and Their Graces Bishops Irinej of Backa, Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac, David of Krusevac, Arsenije of Nis, Nikodim of Dalmatia and Heruvim of Osijek and Baranja visited His Grace Fotije in his Episcopal palace in Bijeljina.

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received the Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Hercegovina, Mr. Milorad Dodik, on June 18, 2020.

President of the Republic of Srpska, Mrs. Zeljka Cvijanovic, and  Prime Minister of Srpska, Mr. Radovan Viskovic, took part in the conversations.

On the Sunday of the 7th June 2020, the church of Holy Trinity in Zurich celebrated its patron saint. The solemn celebration began with a festal Vesper service on a Saturday evening, which was served by protopresbyter staurophor Miroslav Simijonovic, principal of the church of Dormition of Most Holy Mother of God in Zurich. He was concelebrated by priests of both Serbian churches in this city.
