Meeting of His Grace Bishop Jefrem of Banja Luka and Serbian President Vucic
24. July 2020 - 23:21The President of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vucic, visited the construction site of the Serbian and Russian Orthodox Cathedral and the Spiritual-cultural center in Banja Luka, where he was welcomed by His Grace Bishop Jefrem of Banja Luka on 23th July 2020.
President Vucic and a delegation of the Republic of Serbia were accompanied by the President of Republika Srpska, Mrs. Zeljka Cvijanovic, the Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Milorad Dodik, Minister of Interior of Republika Srpska Mr. Dragan Lukac and the Mayor of Banja Luka Mr. Igor Radojicic.
Meeting of Metropolitan Porfirije and President Milanovic
24. July 2020 - 16:36The President of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Zoran Milanovic, received His Eminence Porfirije, Metropolitan of Zagreb-Ljubljana, on July 23, 2020.
President Milanovic and Metropolitan Porfirije discussed, among other things, about the position of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Croatia, as well as the relations between the authorities of the Republic of Croatia and the Serbian Orthodox Church in Croatia.
Russian President decorated Bishop Antonije
23. July 2020 - 11:06The President of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Putin, decorated His Grace Bishop Antonije of Moravica, head of the Representation of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Moscow, with the Order of Friendship.
The decree, which was published on the Kremlin's website, says that the high decoration was awarded to Bishop Antonije for his great contribution to the development of spiritual and cultural ties as well as for his active educational activities.
Founder's Patron Saint-day of Niksic's Cathedral church
20. July 2020 - 12:49His Grace Bishop Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic served on 17 July 2020, on the feast day of Holy Royal Martyrs, the Romanovs, on the occasion of the Founder's Patron Saint-day, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in Cathedral church of Saint Basil of Ostrog in Niksic.
The clergy and monks of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral and the Bishopric of Budimlje-Niksic concelebrated.
The Old church consecrated in Serbian town in Derventa
20. July 2020 - 12:43On 18 July 2020, His Grace Bishop Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla consecrated the Old church in the Serbian town in Derventa, which was destroyed in 1992 during the occupation of the Croatian Defence Council and so-called the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Since the church was destroyed in 1992, on the Ascension Day, and it was planned to be consecrated on the same feast day, 28 May. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the rite was delayed. The restoration began in December 2017 and the church is dedicated to the Annunciation.
