Feast of the Beheading of St. John Celebrated at Shadeland Monastery

On Saturday, September 11, 2021, the Feast Day of the Beheading of the Holy Glorious Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist John, the Divine Liturgy in the Monastery of the Most Holy Mother of God, located in the Village of Shadeland, was officiated by Hieromonk Nektarije, administrator of the monastery.

Beginning of the School Year in the Eastern American Diocese

Lackawanna - Church School and Tammies Registration Day 2021

Weeks of preparation for the new ecclesiastical year and the beginning of a new year of formal parish education at St. Stephen Serbian Orthodox Church in Lackawanna culminated in a festive church school and Tammies registration day on Sunday, September 12, 2021. Upon the recommendation of the Eastern American Diocesan Department of Christian Education, Father Vladislav Golić, and Popadija Sara introduced a new model for children’s religious education. Coupled with the children’s program, to be accompanied by a novel educational outing, is the continuation of the popular adult education lecture series. At a planning meeting, proposing to implement a curriculum entitled Orthodox Journeys for the 2021-2022 church school year, Father Vladislav presented it to the teachers, Deacon Steven Gjurich, Reader Gregory Korbut, Protinica Victoria Trbuhovich, Popadija Sara Golić, and Nancy Mondich, who unanimously supported its use.

50th Anniversary celebrated in Monroeville

On Saturday, September 4^th, and on Sunday, September 5^th, Monroeville was rejoicing! St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church celebrated its 50^th anniversary of the consecration of the Monroeville Church building. Fifty years of Church services and shared mutual love were celebrated in the manner worthy of the joyous spirit of the Orthodox faith. The celebration was even more joyous because of the monastic Slava of His Grace, St. Irenaeus of Lyon who was celebrated on the same day.

How good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

His Grace Bishop Lukijan of Buda welcomed President of the Republic of Serbian Mr. Aleksandar Vucic and Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Milorad Dodik at the church of Holy Greatmartyr George in Budapest on 22 September 2021.

The Holy Scripture says: How good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity, and you, dear presidents, testify to that. It is not easy for you, people may not know, but God sees everything and knows everything, and you did well to enter the house of God this time as well, and that is exactly the church of St. George the Victory-bearer. When you enter the mill, you can't help but pick up at least a little flour, and in the church, God's help, which you definitely need with our support. You are doing great deeds by strengthening the friendship of the Hungarian and Serbian people, and especially with your aid to the Diocese of Buda. We remember everything with gratitude for what you have done and what you will definitely do in the years to come. For many years, Bishop Lukijan said.
