Patriarch Porfirije: Our faith is the faith of the Evangelist Mark
10. May 2021 - 13:20Patriarch Porfirije: The Holy Apostle Mark wrote about God uncreated, about God without beginning and end, who, limiting himself to the human body, came among us not by chance, not for some adventurous motives, not because he had to, but because he came among us because he is essentially love. God who is love out of love created the whole world as the crown of the human world. God came into this world as love for our salvation.

Faith in the Resurrection of Christ, in the victory over death, over injustice, and in our victory over transience, has shaped our people from the earliest times. Orthodox Serbs lived with such faith. This shows that our people drew the meaning of their existence and strength in glorifying God, rejoiced in what they are to the same extent and when temptations arise in the areas where they live and knew that he was not alone, that God was with him and the Cross of Christ with him.
