Talk about improving the cooperation of the Church with the Ministry of Justice

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch,  received  Maja Popovic, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Serbia at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade, on May 21, 2021.

The meeting discussed further improvement of the cooperation of the Serbian Patriarchate with the Ministry of Justice. To that end, the need for additional affirmation of free expression of religious teachings and beliefs, development of freedom of religion and coordinated cooperation of the Church with state bodies was pointed out. The necessity of joint engagement in order to protect the heritage of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as the need to improve the social and material position of monasticism, was especially emphasized.

Patriarch Porfirije opens the Memorial Room of Patriarch Pavle in Monastery Rakovica

Patriarch Porfirije: We follow the traces that Patriarch Pavle left us on the path that led our Church towards the living God, Christ our Savior, who is our faith and our hope and our love.

Serbian Patriarch Pavle of blessed repose with his deeds obliged Serbs to remember him gladly and continue his path of faith, truth, justice, charity and love. He said: Love is the highest virtue. Everything that a person shares with others decreases, except love. The more you give it, the more you have it. On May 20, 2021, with such love, the church and the gate of Rakovica Monastery were filled, where His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch,  opened the Memorial Room dedicated to Patriarch Pavle.

Patriarch Porfirije receives Metropolitan Anthony from the Ukranian Orthodox Church

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, received His Eminence Metropolitan Anthony of Borispol and Brovary, chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade, on 19 May 2021. 

On that occasion, Metropolitan Anthony conveyed the congratulations of His Beatitude the Metropolitan Onuphrius of Kiev and All Ukraine regarding the enthronement to the throne of the primates of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Crown Prince Alexander offerс congratulations он The Lucy G. Moses Award

In a letter dated May 13, 2021, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander, offered his congratulations to His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America, noting: “It was with great joy and pride that my wife, HRH Crown Princess Katherine and I received the news that Saint Sava Cathedral received The Lucy G. Moses Award from the New York landmarks conservancy. This prestigious award is given every year for past the 31 years to the projects that are renovated, preserved, or restored and we are very proud that Saint Sava Cathedral Church first phase of renovation is recognized and awarded.”    

Patriarch Porfirije served in Tuman Monastery

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Tuman Monastery, on 16 May 2021, on the Sunday of Myrrh-Bearing Women.

The Patriarch was concelebrated by Their Graces Bishops Jovan of Sumadija, Bishop Ignatije of Branicevo and Ilarion of Timok, with the monastics and the clergy from many dioceses.

Patriarch Porfirije: God is constantly with us, but we are often unaware of that fact

On the feast day of Saint Athanasius the Great, 15 May 2021, His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church dedicated to this great saint in Belgrade's suburb of Plavi Horizonti. 

The Patriarch was concelebrated by Diocesan dean protopresbyter-staurophor Bozo Bakajlic, archpriest Milos Stojanovic and Vladan Simic, hieromonk Sava (Bundalo) and deacons Dragan Radic and Radomir Vrucinic.
