Patron Saint-day of the church of Saint Nikolaj in Resnik

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Holy Bishop Nikolaj of Ohrid and Zica, on 3 May 2021, on Easter Monday and the day of prayerful remembrance on Saint Nikolaj, Bishop of Ohrid and Zica.

His Holiness Porfitije, Serbian Patriarch,  spent the happiest holiday, Easter, first with the homeless with whom he had lunch together in the church soup kitchen, and after that he distributed packages to sick children at the University Children's Clinic "Tirsova".

In the yard of the church kitchen of the Religious Charitable Guardianship,  the Patriarch was welcomed at the table by 20 users, most of them homeless. “God loves us. And God has shown infinite love for the whole human race today… There is no excuse for discouragement, no excuse for any kind of giving up life, we all have phases of ups and downs… And this day shows, not only have we not lost hope, but that we have full of enthusiasm and confidence that we can be people who are joyful. Let joy be what our goal is. Next time we meet let's sing Serbian folk songs, also we can sing foreign songs," the Patriarch told them.

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the of Saint Sava Cathedral in the Vracar district, on May 2, 2021, on Easter.

The Patriarch was concelebrated by Archimandrites Serafim and Prokopije (Tajar), protopresbyter-staurophors Dr. Savo Jovic, Professor Dr. Vladimir Vukasinovic and Professor Dr. Dragan Protic, Dean of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology, Archpriest Professor Dr. Zoran Rankovic, archpriest Nenad Stefanovic, Hieromonk Sava (Bundalo), protodeacon Mladen Kovacevic, Deacon Radomir Vrućinić and subdeacons Vladimir Jelic, Njegoš Stikic and Dejan Nakic.

The parish of the Holy Prophet Elijah in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania festively celebrated Lazareva Subota – Lazarus Saturday – with an unforgettable combination of blessed events.  Of particular significance was the visit of our beloved archpastor and father, His Grace, Bishop Irinej of our God-Protected Diocese of Eastern America, who was joining our faithful for the first time since the pandemic began.  His Grace’s joy and enthusiasm would shape a day that will long be remembered by parishioners and friends of our community.

image On Friday, April 23, 2021, His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America presided over the funeral service for Very Reverend Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Dragoljub Malich at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church in Monroeville. His family, together with many friends and relatives and former parishioners came to give their respect to Fr. Dragoljub who throughout his ministry has touched many lives.

The Feast of the Entry of Christ into Jerusalem – Palm Sunday was solemnly celebrated in the parish of St. Simeon Mirotocivi in Las Vegas. The Eucharistic assembly was presided over by Bishop Maxim of West America, with the concelebration of the clergy and the pious people, who filled the holy temple in large numbers.
