Chapel of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God at the Military Academy consecrated
25. March 2014 - 17:06The adoption of the Law on the Serbian Armed Forces in December 2007 provided conditions that religious services could be organized within the Serbian Armed Forces. That move was supported by all traditional Churches and religious communities. The Government of Serbia passed a decree on the introduction of religious services in the Serbian Armed Forces on 24 March 2011, and later on it signed similar agreements with the representatives of seven traditional Churches and religious communities.

SOYA NSW celebrates its Patronal Feast

March 2014 - 10:05On Saturday, 22 March 2014, the Serbian Orthodox Youth Association of Australia and New Zealand (SOYA) marked its Patronal Feast, St Nicholai of Zhicha at the St Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church and Community Centre in Blacktown. The cutting of the Festal Bread was celebrated by Fr Miodrag Peric, Dean of the New South Wales Deanery, representing His Grace Bishop Irinej of Australia and New Zealand, together with Fr Srboljub Miletich from the Rooty Hill parish of St Stephen, and Fr Djordje Veselinovic, SOYA NSW Spiritual Advisor and host priest. Present also was the SOYA National President, Pedja Srebro. The tireless members of the local "Mother Jugovich" Circle of Serbian Sisters prepared a lovely lenten meal that was enjoyed by all present.

March 2014 - 14:42On the occasion of the national holiday – the Liberation Day of the Greeks from Turkish rule and the Liberation uprisings from 1821, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej served on 23 March 2014 the Divine Liturgy with Thanksgiving at the Patriarchate chapel of Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher in Belgrade.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, March 18 & 19, 2014 His Grace, Bishop Maxim and the Clergy of the Western American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church in North and South America gathered at the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in San Gabriel, California for the Annual Lenten Clergy Confession & Retreat.
