In Memoriam Father Rade Wimbish
11. March 2014 - 9:49V. Rev. Rade Wimbish was born on December 2, 1955, in Los Angeles, California USA. He finished elementary and high school in Montebello, Los Angeles County, where he lived. He then completed the first level of education at Rio Hondo College, after which he enrolled at the Theological Faculty of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Belgrade, where he graduated in 1985. After that, he returned to the Diocese of Western America, where he served as a deacon at the Saint Steven's Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Alhambra, California, and worked as the Diocesan Secretary. He was elevated to the Royal Priesthood in 1986, and was appointed to the parish of St. Sava in Cupertino, California, and later to the newly established parish of the Holy Virgin in Santa Clara, California, until the year 2005, when he retired due to health problems. Upon retirement he returned to Serbia and lived in Kragujevac until his passing on March 9, 2014. May his memory be eternal.
Istanbul: Conciliar Holy Liturgy of Primates of Local Orthodox Churches
9. March 2014 - 17:08His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej had an honour to officiate today at the morning service before mutual service of the Divine Liturgy of the Primates of Local Orthodox Churches.
The Conciliar Holy Liturgy commenced at 10 a.m., at the Cathedral Church of Saint George the Great martyr at the Phanar. Immediately after the Holy Gospel, chief secretary of the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Archimandrite Bartholomew Samaras, read the Message of the Primates of the Local Orthodox Churches, which was solemnly signed yesterday after the end of the Meeting.
First day of Meeting in Istanbul concluded
7. March 2014 - 19:39The first day of the Meeting of the primates of the Canonical Local Orthodox Churches, presided by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew has been concluded.
Session are held in the church of Saint George - the Cathedral Church of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Istanbul.
Serbian Patriarch Irinej arrives to Constantinople
6. March 2014 - 12:18Serbian Patriarch Irinej has arrived to Istanbul (Constantinople) where the synaxis of Primates of Orthodox Churches begins today.
His Holiness, accompanied by Bishop Irinej of Backa, arrived to Istanbul yesterday. Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro-Littoral arrived with protopresbyter Gajo Gajic two days earlier, due to his participation in the Preparatory Commission of this synaxis.

5. March 2014 - 10:13His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received Mrs. Slavka Draskovic, Director of the Office for Diaspora and the Serbs in the region of the Government of Republic of Serbia.
Mr. Vukman Krivokuc, assistant to Director, and Mrs. Borka Radovanovic attended the audience. The same day, Serbian Patriarch Irinej also received Professor Dr. Oliver Antic, advisor to President of the Republic.
Serbian Patriarch attends the Pan-Orthodox meeting in Constantinople
4. March 2014 - 13:34On the invitation of His All-Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej will stay in Istanbul from 5th to 9th of March 2014.
The reason of this visit is the meeting of all primates of the Canonical Local Orthodox Churches in order to discuss current topics in the Church and the society. Patriarch Irinej is accompanied by His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa, as well as protopresbyter Gajo Gajic.
