Audience at the Serbian Patriarchate - 19 February 2014

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch received Mr. Sinisa Mali, President of the Interim Council of the City of Belgrade, and Mr. Goran Vesic, Secretary of the Interim Council  of the City of Belgrade at the Serbian Patriarchate on 19 February 2014.

The audience was attended by Dr. Mileta Radojevic, Director of the Office for Cooperation with Churches and Traditional Communities, and protopresbyter-stavrophor Stojadin Pavlovic, Director of the Patriarchal Administration Office, with associates.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, received Mr. Mileta Ilic, President of the City Assembly of Nis, as well as Mr. Milan Jovanovic and Mr. Vladimir Djordjevic, councilors of the President of the City Assembly of Nis at the Serbian Patriarchate on February 18^th, 2014.

On the same day, Patriarch Irinej received also Mr. Veljko Kovacevic, the Serbian ambassador in Belarus.

A couple from China baptized at the Monastery of Tvrdos

The monastery of Tvrdos near Trebinje with the force of faith and love attracted David and Linda – a successful business couple from China to be baptized and get married in this one of the most beautiful Orthodox sacred places.

David and Linda met twenty years ago in Prague the Herzegovinians, with whom they have made friends and from whom they have learned about faith and tradition of the Serbs. “We have lived everywhere in Europe, we have traveled a lot, but we have never felt nothing similar like here in Herzegovina, especially in churches and monasteries, where one is overwhelmed with love and warmth at every step”,  Linda Wong said. She is impressed with an acquaintance with retired Bishop Atanasije of Zachulmia-Herzegovina and emphasizes his frankness.

This couple announced that they would continue cooperation with the Church and that they planned mutual projects  having the same mission – to help marginized, mistreated and sick. Linda has been engaged in humanitarian work and has a vast number of companies in the world and in China she deals with, she has built quite a number of schools, as she began dealing with real estate 25 years ago.

The feast of the Presentation of Jesus Christ into the Temple marked in the capital

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral Church in Belgrade on the feast of the Presentation of Jesus Christ into the Temple.

Lots of priests and deacons concelebrated, while the choir of this  church sang responses. Following the Liturgy the Patriarch visited the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases at the  Dedinje district, where he blessed the slava cake with its Director, Professor Dr. Bosko Djukanovic. The President of Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik and many other guests were present.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral Church in Belgrade on the feast of the Presentation of Jesus Christ into the Temple.
