Saint Dositej the Confessor celebrated

January 2014 - 15:58Saint Dositej the Confessor of Zagreb was celebrated with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy which was served by Metropolitan Jovan of Zagreb and Ljubljana, Bishop Demetrius of Saphit, Bishop Fotije of Dalmatia and Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac at the chapel of Saint Sava at the Spiritual centre within the monastery of Saint Petka in Zagreb.
The Bishops were concelebrated by rector of the Seminary of Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Nis protopresbyter-stavrophor Milutin Timotijevic, protopresbyter-stavrophor Isa Kidis, protopresbyter-stavrophor Marko Nogic, hieromonk Naum and deacons Zoran Radic and Branimir Jokic. Students of the grammar school "Kantakuzina Katarina Brankovic", believers from the Parish of Zagreb and Orthodox Russians from Zagreb and other places fulfilled the church. Bishop Maxim visits Oregon
15. January 2014 - 11:14On the occasion of the celebration of the feast of “the first crowned among martyrs,” St. Stephen the Protomartyr and Archdeacon, His Grace the Rt. Reverend Maxim, Serbian Orthodox Bishop of Alhambra and Western America, visited the parish of St. Stephen in Portland and its sister church, St. John the Wonderworker, in Eugene on January 11th and 12th.
Christmas reception at the Russian Embassy
13. January 2014 - 12:57At the Russian Embassy in Belgrade on 10 January 2014, the Christmas reception was held which was attended by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch and His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa, as well as representatives of political and public life of Serbia.
The host of the reception, Ambassador Chepurin in his address to the eminent invitees, reminded of results of the visit of Serbian Patriarch to Russia, Belarus and Ukraine on the occasion of the 1025th Anniversary of the Baptism of Russia, as well as the visit of the Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to Serbia and Montenegro in order to participate in the celebration of the 1700th Anniversary of the Edict of Milan. The video clip of the participators of these bilateral events was shown to the guests.
Stefan Nemanja – Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher (1113-2013)
13. January 2014 - 12:56At the National Museum in Belgrade on January 11th, 2014 the solemn academy on the occasion of the nine centuries of the birth of Stefan Nemanja began with the hymn Lord, Give Us Justice and the prayer Our Father.
An author of the program entitled “The Vertical of Victory” on the occasion of the nine centuries since the birth of Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher is Jasmina Stoiljkovic, drama artist of the Serbian drama of the National Theatre from Prishtina, and the organizer is the Geopolitika magazine, along with the support of the National Museum.
Patriarch: Both Republika Srpska and Serbia need unity
10. January 2014 - 10:32His Holiness, Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, celebrated the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral church of Christ the Saviour in Banjaluka, on the occasion of the Patron Saint-day of Republika Srpska – Saint Stephen the Archdeacon.
His Holiness was concelebrated by Their Graces Bishop Jefrem of Banjaluka, Hrizostom of Zvornik-Tuzla and Atanasije of Bihac-Petrovac. After the Divine Liturgy the Patriarch blessed the slava cake. The service was attended by President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic, President of the National Assembly Igor Radojcic, ministers of the Republic, deputies of the parliament, as well as Minister of Justice and Public Administration of the Republic of Serbia Nikola Selakovic.
