His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the Cathedral church of Holy Michael  in Belgrade with the concelebration of His Eminence Metropolitan Archangel Chrysostomos of Dodoni, of the Greek Orthodox Church, Venerable Archimandrite Spyridon (Katramados), Very Rev. Protopresbyter Panagiotos Karatasios, as well as priesthood of the Cathedral church.

At the end of the Holy Liturgy His Holiness Patriarch adressed the guests and wished them a nice stay in Serbia. Metropolitan Chrysostomos is President of the Synodal Office for pilgrimage tours, and he came to Belgrade to present the program of the Archdiocese of Athens at the International Tourism Fair. Besides Metropolitan Chrysostomos the official delegation of the Greek Church consists of: Archimandrite Spyridon (Katramados) – Secretary, Mr. Atanasios Raftopoulos and Mr. Vasilios Dzerpos – members, as well as Mr. Chrystos Petreas – special science advisor of the Synodal Office for pilgrimage tours of the Greek Church.

Saint Simeon’s Assembly in Podgorica

The Saint Simeon’s Assembly began with the consecration of the baptistery in the pyrgos of Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher and the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral church of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica on Saturday, March 1st. The assembly was held under the sign of the great jubilee – 9oo years since the birth of Saint Simeon the Myrhh-Gusher – Stefan Nemanja.

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej officiated the Divine Liturgy with the concelebration of His Eminence Amfilohije, Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, Their Graces Bishops: Jovan of Sumadija, Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic, Grigorije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina, Teodosije of Raska-Prizren and Joakim of Polog-Kumanovo, priests, deacons  and hieromonks.

Serbian Patriarch Irinej arrives to Podgorica

Serbian Patriarch Irinej arrived to Podgorica on February 28th, 2014, where on the occasion of the 900th anniversary of the birth of Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher – Stefan Nemanja, a great Saint Simeon’s Assembly was held on Saturday, March 1st.

His Holiness was welcomed at the airport by His Eminence Amfilohije,Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, with priests and monks of the Metropolitanate. The Patriarch arrived to the Cathedral church of the Resurrection of Christ where he was welcomed by Their Graces Bishops: Jovan of Sumadia, Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic, Teodosije of Raska-Prizren, Joakim of Polog-Kumanovo and the  Bishop  emeritus Atanasije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina, the priesthood and the faithful of Podgorica.

First Vice President of the Government of Serbia visits Banjska Monastery

The first Vice President of the Government of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vucic visited Banjska Monastery and talked with Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren.

First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic announced yesterday, after having visited the monastery of Banjská near Zvečan, that the dialogue of Belgrade with the provisional authorities in Pristina would continue between 13 and 18 March. Vucic pointed out that Belgrade still insisted  on the release of four Serbs who are in custody in Kosovo and reiterated that Serbia required from  the international community to respect the basic human rights of our citizens.

In honor of the Serb who indebted the world

On Friday, 28 February 2014, an agreement among the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Serbian Government and the Interim authority of the City of Belgrade, there was signed at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade. The Agreement is based on the mutual lasting commitment to realize the idea of the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church and His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, to worthily bury the remains of Nikola Tesla, the world’s most famous inventor and scientist in the field of physics, electrical  and radio engineering and one of the greatest minds of the twentieth century , in the churchyard of  the Saint Sava Memorial Cathedral.

The Agreement, which, among other things, provides conditions for the shaping and installation of the monument to Nikola Tesla in the courtyard of the Saint Sava Cathedral, was signed by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch;  Minister of Energy, Development and Environment Professor Dr.  Zorana Mihajlovic, and President of the Interim Body of the City of Belgrade Dr. Sinisa Mali.

From Friday 14th February to Sunday 16th February 2014, St. Michael's Serbian Orthodox Church held its 2014 parish camp in a beautiful bushland location at a campsite in Galston Gorge. Approximately 40 adults and children attended the camp and participated in a variety of spiritual, educational and recreational activities.The theme of the camp was "Walking With Christ".
