Founders’ Day with Bishop Maxim at Saint Sava, Jackson, CA
9. December 2013 - 12:47St. Sava Church in Jackson, California, was consecrated on the Feast of the Entry of the Theotokos into the Temple on December 4, 1894. In recent years, the parish has designated the first Sunday of December as “Founders Day” in order to celebrate the consecration of the church and to offer a parastos for Fr. Sebastian Dabovich and all the founding members. Additionally, the late Cedo Saraba would sponsor a Bakalar Luncheon on this date to help raise funds for the parish. After Cedo’s untimely passing, the Saraba family has continued to sponsor this meal and to ask for memorial prayers for all their departed family members.

6. December 2013 - 13:18On Thursday, December 5th, His Holiness Irinej, the administrator of the Diocese of Middle Europe, visited the church of Saint Sava in Hannover.
His Holiness was welcomed by the head of the church protopresbyter-stavrophor Milan Pejic along with archimandrite Gerasim Frangulakis (Greek Orthodox Church) and lots of parishioners.
Serbian Patriarch Irinej visited Orthodox Institute at the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich
6. December 2013 - 12:24On Wednesday, December 4th 2013, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch was cordially welcomed by professors and students of the Orthodox Instutute in Munich.
Students of the Orthodox Institute greeted Serbian Patriarch Irinej with the church hymn. Vicepresident of the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich (LMU) Professor Dr. Martin Wirsing in his cordial welcome speech pointed out the significant contribution of the Orthodox theology at this eminent University. And professors Athanasios Vletsis (president of the Joint Commission of the Orthodox Institute), Franz Xaver Bischof (dean of the Catholic Faculty of Theology), and Gunther Wenz (representative of the Center for Ecumenical Research of the Evangelical Faculty of Theology) also greeted Serbian Patriarch and emphasized aspects of their ecumenical cooperation with the Orthodox Institute in Munich. On behalf of the students and PhD candidates of the Orthodox Institute Mr. Jovan Stojanovic and Mr. Nenad Savkovic welcomed Patriarch Irinej.

6. December 2013 - 11:10On the feast day of the Presentation of the Most Holy Theotokos, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej served the Divine Liturgy in the church of Saint Jovan Vladimir in Munich. In Munich there are two Serbian Orthodox churches and four parishes.
The Serbian Patriarch was concelebrated by Archbishop Marko of Berlin-Germany (Russian Orthodox Church), Metropolitan Seraphim of Middle and North Europe (Romanian Orthodox Church) and Bishop Sophian of Kronstadt (Antiochian Orthodox Church).

5. December 2013 - 15:52His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch visited on December 3rd, 2013 the church of the Resurrection of Christ in Holzmann street in Berlin
In front of the church Serbian Patriarch Irinej was welcomed by the head of the church, archpriest Dragan Sekulic, archpriest Veljko Gacic, episcopal dean for North East Germany and the church of Saint Sava in Berlin, archpriest Andrej Sikojev from the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, archpriest Mikhail Kovalj from the Orthodox Church of Poland, presbyter Radomir Kolundzic, parish priest of the church of Saint Sava in Berlin, and priest Petar Dojkovic from the British-Scandinavian diocese.
