Seventieth anniversary of children’s camp

His Holiness Irinej attended the greatest jubilee in Libertyville. Yesterday, for the first time as the Patriarch, His Holiness served in New Gracanica.

On Saturday, August 11, 2012 on the 70th anniversary of Saint Sava Children’s Camp, at the Stauropegic monastery of Saint Sava in Libertyville, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch held the Divine Liturgy with the concelebration of Their Graces Bishops Longin of Nova Gracanica-Midwestern America and Peter of Clevelend, as well as many priests and deacons.

At the end of the Holy Liturgy, His Grace Bishop Longin warmly welcomed His Holiness with a cordial speech. Bishop Longin expressed the importance of the presence of His Holiness in this region, because, as the Patriarch, he is the symbol of the unity of the Serbian Church and the Serbian people.

Then His Holiness addressed the believers, with lots of fatherly love and care, expressing the importance of the monastery of Saint Sava, as the oldest Serbian spiritual centre on the American continent. Also he pointed out the special role that the monastery had for the preservation of the unity of the Serbian people in this country through history.

Eastern Diocesan Day 2012

With the blessings of His Grace Bishop Mitrophan the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Eastern America will celebrate its annual Diocesan Day on Sunday, August 12.

Each year the Eastern Ameican Diocese holds a diocesan reunion which brings together clergy and faithful from all over the Diocese for a day of prayer and fellowship around their bishop and archpastor. Taking place at the Most Holy Mother of God Monastery and St. Sava Camp at Shadeland, Pennsylvannia, the even is a great opportunity to see old friend and make new ones, to enjoy the beauty of God's creation, and to thank Him for it.

Seminar of the priesthood of the Diocese of Raska-Prizren

On Sunday, August 6, 2012 in the monastery of Gracanica the annual seminar of the priesthood of the Diocese of Raska-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija. In the work of the seminar, which was led by Bishop Teodosije,  fifty seven priests and seven deacons from all parts of the Diocese participated. The work of the seminar began with the lecture of protopresbyter-staurophor Dragan Kojic on the subject "Serving in times of the suffering of the Church".

Belgrade's church of Saint Gabriel the Archangel in Humska street celebrated today, on August 9, 2012 the Holy hieromartyr Pantaleon with the Divine Liturgy which was served by His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno, vicar of Patriarch. He was concelebrate by many priests and deacons.

On the day of the Assumption of Saint Ana, Metropolitan Jovan of Zagreb and Ljubljana held the Divine Liturgy in the church of Saint Paul the Apostle in Novi Pavljani. The Metropolitan was concelebrated by protopresbyter-staurophor Tomo Cirkovic, parish priest of Kopar, presbyter Aleksandar Obradovic, parish priest of Zagreb, Dalibor Petkovic, parish priest of Stupovac and deacon Zoran Radic.

Metropolitan Amfilohije serves in Bare Radovica

His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral served yesterday on the feast day of Saint Panteleon and Saint Clement of Ohrid the Divine Liturgy in the church devoted to this feast in Bare Radovica near Moraca Monastery. 

After the Holy Liturgy there was a solemn procession around the church, and Metropolitan Amfilohije cut the slava cake. Later the Metropolitan served a commemoration to his parents and ancestors and consecrated a newly built monument. Afterwards there was a table of love and cultural programme for all the faithful.
