Bishop Maxim's First Pastoral Visit to Mexico

His Grace Bishop Maxim of Western America made his first official and historical visit to the Orthodox faithful in Mexico April 26- 29, 2012, together with V. Rev. Blasko Paraklis. They arrived in Mexico City on Friday, April 26, 2012. The pastoral-episcopal responsibility of the bishop of Western America to the Serbian residents living in Mexico is expressed in the decisions of the Holy Assembly of Bishops. 

In an effort to preserve the gathering and meetings with our Orthodox compatriots during the Pascal period, a great help was Bishop Alejo (Exarch of the Orthodox Church in America – OCA) who showed his unselfish support, inviting Bishop Maxim and showing him the hospitality of Abraham. Through the goodness of Bishop Alejo, there were two liturgical encounters at the Cathedral church of the Ascension of our Lord on Saturday and Sunday. His diocese is celebrating their fortieth anniversary (www.ocamexico.org).

Third Easter concert under by the patronage of Serbian Patriarch Irinej

Under the patronage of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, in the Ilija M. Kolarac Foundation in Belgrade on April 30, 2012 beginning at 18.30, the Third Easter Concert was held in the organization of the Production Institute of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac, Radio Slovo Ljubve and the Religious Voluntary Guardianship of the Archbishopric of Belgrade Karlovac. 

Memorial service for the victims of the scaffold in Jajinci

According to the tradition longer that four decades, on Sunday of Holy women myrrh-bearers, on April 29, 2012, His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno served the memorial service for the victims of the scaffold in Jajinci.

Gathering of representatives of the Serbian people in the Ministry of Faith and Diaspora

With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno participated last Friday, on April 27, 2012, at the third conference of the Position and Perspective of the Serbian people in the countries of the region, which is held in the ceremonial hall of the Ministry of Faith and Dispora.

Gifts of Novi Sad primary school pupils to their peers in Kosovo and Metohija

With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa also this year children of Novi Sad schools with their religious teachers prepared the Easter gift boxes (with clothes, school material and sweets) for their peers in Kosovo and Metohija.
