Activities of Bishop Jovan of Nis

Monastery of St. Roman - His Grace Bishop Jovan of Nis served on December 2, 2011 the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the monastery of St. Roman. At the end of the Liturgy the Bishop, priests and faithful people all together prayed for the soul of nun Marina of blessed repose, the sister of this holy family, and on the occasion of forty days since her death.

Bishop Teodosije serves in the village of Pasjane in Kosovo Pomoravlje

Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren and Kosovo and Metohija served today the Divine Liturgy in the church of the Transfiguration of God in the village of Pasjane in Kosovo Pomoravlje. In this Serbian village there are 378 households and about 2000 inhabitants. In the primary and in two high schools there are 300 pupils. This village is in the area which is populated by the Serbs who had not left their homes.

Reception at the Serbian Patriarchate - December 8, 2011

On behalf of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, His Grace vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno received on December 8, 2011 at the Serbian Patriarchate Professor Dr. Valery Alexeyev, president of the Fund of Unity of Orthodox Peoples from Moscow.

Bishop Mitrophan Visits Atlanta Parish for the Feast of the Entry of the Theotokos

His Grace Bishop Dr. Mitrophan celebrated Vavedenje Presvete Bogorodice, the Entrance of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple, joining Rev. Miladin Blagojevic and his parishioners on Sunday, December 4, 2011 for the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy.

When addressing the faithful his Grace Dr. Bishop Mitrofan expressed the importance of love towards God, but also the stressed out how important it is to love and respect each other. Once again our dear Kolo sisters have worked hard and prepared yet another delicious lunch for all the parishioners.

Jovanovic Among the Greats

The remains of Slobodan Jovanovic were laid in the Alley of deserving citizens at the New Cemetary, in the presence of  Serbian President Boris Tadic, high state officials and admirers of the famous historian and  lawyer.

On behald of the Holy Synod of Bishops the  burial was attended by His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa. The commemoration was served by His Grace Vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno.

- Jovanovic left a remarkable mark in his and our time, president of the SASA Nikola Hajdin said. 

Metropolitan Amfilohije celebrated name day in the monastery of New Gracanica

On the occasion of the feast day of St. Amphilochius of Iconium after which he got monastic name, His Eminence Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral kyr Amfilohije served with the blessing of competent Bishop Longin, on Tuesday, December 6, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Most Holy Theotokos in the New Gracanica monastery near Chicago, USA, the seat of the Diocese of New Gracanica-Midwestern America.
