Bishop Vasilije visits President of the Republic of Srpska

June 2011 - 13:09The President of the Republic of Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik during today's talk in Banjaluka with Bishop Vasilije of Zvornik Tuzla supported his work in the Diocese and the Inter-religious Council, as well as his contribution to development of the inter-religious relations in the Armed forces of the BiH.гама БиХ.
Dodik informed the Bishop on the current situation in Srpska, which is related to economic and political issues important also for the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Bishop Vasilije informed Dodik on the situation in the Diocese of Zvornik-Tuzla, as well as his work in the Inter-religious council and the Armed forces of BiH.

June 2011 - 11:05His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch and Prof. Dr. Zoran Stankovic, minister of Health, signed today at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade the Memorandum on cooperation of the Serbian Orthodox Church and Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia. The act of signing of the Memorandum was attended by His Grace Bishop Porfirije of Jegar, head of the monastery of Kovilj, under whose spiritual and material patronage, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa, the drug rehabilitation center - the community Land of the Living works.
Foundations of the medieval church of St. Kyriaki undermined
22. June 2011 - 11:54The Diocese of Raska-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija reported today to the Kosovo police serious damage on the medieval church of St. Kyriaki in the suburb of Potkaljaja in Prizren. It is about the small church from 14th century which was damaged and in several occasion its lead from the roof was stolen. In the last case one Albanian, who is allegedly the owner of the lot, began with digging of the foundations for a new building, so he undermined the foundations of the church. Static is at risk and requires an urgent recovery.
The Diocese reported this newest incident also to the EU Special Representative for Serbian spiritual and cultural heritage Mr. Dimitris Moshopoulos asking urgent international reaction because it is the protected object and the area of the close historical zone of Prizren.

Patriarch Irinej served the memorial service to Queen Maria
22. June 2011 - 11:44His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served today the memorial service at the Royal Palace Chapel of St Andrew the First Called on the occasion of 50 years since the death of Queen Maria. The memorial service was attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II, Princess Katherine and Prince Philip Karadjordjevic.
