13. May 2021 - 14:17The Patron Saint-day of the monastery of St. Basil of Ostrog in Bijeljina was marked on May 12, 2021 with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy, which was served by Their Graces Bishops Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla and Heruvim of Osijek-Polje and Baranja.
They were concelebrated by abbot of the Ozren Monastery Archimandrite Gavrilo (Stevanovic), abbot of the Precious Cross Monastery Archimandrite Nektarije (Tesic), Diocesan dean of Bijeljina protopresbyter-staurophor Ljubo Bogdanovic, parish priest of the church of Saint George in Bijeljina protopresbyter-staurophor Ziko Micanovic, protodeacon Bogdan Stjepanovic and deacon Vojislav Nikolic, in a prayerful presence of the head of this holy monastery abbess Matrona, the sisterhood of the monastery, clergy and the believers.

For the past 31 years, the New York Landmarks Conservancy presents the Lucy G. Moses "Preservation Award" to approximately 10-12 projects in the five boroughs of New York City that demonstrated excellence in the restoration, preservation, or adaptive use of historic buildings, streetscapes, and landscapes that preserve commercial, residential, institutional, religious, and public buildings. For the year 2020, the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Sava was one of twelve honored with this award.

His Grace Bishop Lukijan of Buda and Administrator of Timisoara celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of protonamesnik Radovan Djordjevic (priest of the Diocese of Zica), priest Ljuba Milisavic and Zoran Zivic, hieromonk Varnava Knezevic and deacon Stefan Milisavic.

2. May 2021 - 22:02His Holiness Porfitije, Serbian Patriarch, spent the happiest holiday, Easter, first with the homeless with whom he had lunch together in the church soup kitchen, and after that he distributed packages to sick children at the University Children's Clinic "Tirsova".

In the yard of the church kitchen of the Religious Charitable Guardianship, the Patriarch was welcomed at the table by 20 users, most of them homeless. “God loves us. And God has shown infinite love for the whole human race today… There is no excuse for discouragement, no excuse for any kind of giving up life, we all have phases of ups and downs… And this day shows, not only have we not lost hope, but that we have full of enthusiasm and confidence that we can be people who are joyful. Let joy be what our goal is. Next time we meet let's sing Serbian folk songs, also we can sing foreign songs," the Patriarch told them.
