New church and parish centre in Ottawa consecrated

On Sunday, October 7, 2012 on the feast day of St. Stefan the First-Crowned, St. King Vladislav, St. David of Serbia and Holy first martyr Tecla, foundations of the new church and parish centre in Ottawa were consecrated. His Grace Bishop Georgije of Canada served the consecration with the concelebration of the competent priest  f. Aleksandar Gujanicic and deacon Stefan Ikonomovski with the presence of the Mnaging board and many believers.

After the meeting of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Patriarchate of Pec a meeting of the Committee for Kosovo and Metohija of the Holy Assembly of Bishops was held. It was presided by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Kyr Irinej, and along with the members of the Holy Synod there were members of the Committee, Their Graces Kyr Teodosije, Bishop of Raska-Prizren and Kyr Jovan Bishop of Lipljan, and Their Graces Kyr Lavrentije Bishop of Sabac and Kyr David Bishop of Stobi attended the meeting.

Today, on the feast day of Holy Martyr Gregory of Armenia, after the Divine Liturgy which was served by Their Graces Bishops Jovan of Sumadija and Jovan of Lipljan with the clergy, a session of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church  commenced which was presided by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch. Members of the Committee of the Holy Assembly of Bishops for Kosovo and Metohija will later join the session, who arrived today and yesterday at the Mother of all Serbian Churches, and several other bishops as well.

Historical injustice solved

The remains of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Paul and Princess Olga, and their son Prince Nicholas with full state and church honors yesterday  arrived in the homeland and are displayed at Belgrade's Cathedral church.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch led the memorial service, with the concelebration of Their Graces Bishops Lukijan of Budim, Jovan of Sumadija, Irinej of Australia-New Zealand, Atanasije of Hvosno and Porfirije of Jegar, at the Cathedral church fulfilled with the highest state officials, members of the royal family Karadjordjevic and faithful people from all Serbian areas.

The memorial service was attended by President of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Tomislav Nikolic, President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Ivica Dacic, President of the National Assembly Mr. Nebojsa Stefanovic, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Aleksandar and Princess Katherine Karadjordjevic;Prince Aleksandar and Princess Barbara, Princess Elizabeth and Catherine Oxenberg;Prince Michael, Duke of Kent; Her Imperial and Royal Highness Arch Duchess Helen von Habsburg, Princess Linda and her sons Princes Djordje and Michael;  Prince Vladimir and Princess Brigitta, Prince Paul's In-Laws: Neil and Serena Balfour, Christopher Balfour, Jean Marie and Veronika de Brouwer; as well as members of the Government, diplomatic corps and other officials.
