Action to remove the barricades by KFOR stopped by the mass gathering of Serbs who continue non-violent protest

October 2011 - 14:48The action of the KFOR, which started last night with a deployment of forces and machinery at the north of Kosovo and the first concrete steps starting from 04:00 hours, the military forces expanded by about 350 meters the zone they control at Brnjak and removed one of the five trucks on the barricades in Jagnjenica. The tear gas or the"pepper spray" was used on two occasions against the citizens gathered at the barricades which is why they had to seek a medical help. KFOR is concentrated on the barricades in Jagnjenica where there were no clay or concrete embankment, while another convoy was located 300 meters from the main roadblocks in the village of Zupce.

The commemoration was attended by representatives of the Kolarac Endownment.

October 2011 - 9:22His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch visited Jagodina on Sunday, October 16, 2011, on the feast day of St. Dyonisius the Areopagite, the Athenisan judge who was converted to Christianity with a sermon of Apostle Paul at Athenian areopagus, and who was according to the legend the first Athenian bishop, and served the Divine Liturgy with his host Bishop Jovan of Sumaidja and with the concelebration of a guest from greece father Sotiros Patras and the clergy of the Diocese of Sumaidja. The occasion for this visit of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej was a memorial service for the 80th anniversary since the erection and the consecration of the monument to suffered citizens of Jagodina in all wars fought for the liberation of Serbia, which is located at the Square of youth in the centre of the city.
