First year since election of Serbian Patriarch Irinej celebrated with a liturgical gathering

  

Today our Holy Church prayerfully marks a first year of the election and the enthronement of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch.

Christmas Caroling with the Branko Radichevich Cathedral Choir

For the fourth consecutive year, the Serbian Singing Society Branko Radichevich, our Cathedral choir, visited nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and private homes through the northern portion of Chicago, Cook and DuPage counties and southern Lake County, traveling through the more than 1500 square miles that comprises the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Libertyville and Chicago.

Patron's Feast Day in Monastery of St. Stephen the Archdeacon in Slanci

On the third day of Christmas, the feast day of Saint Stephen the Archdeacon was celebrated in all churches of the Serbian Orthodox Church and in Orthodox homes in which this saint is celebrated as their patron. Especially solemn was in St. Stephen the Archdeacon monastery in Slanci where His Grace Vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in a presence of thousand believers from all parts of Serbia.

Feast Day of St. Basil the Great in Belgrade

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served today, on the feast day of St. Basil the Great, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Cathedral church. After the public prayer meeting for a successful and blessed New Year 2011, His Holiness cut the slava cake of the First Belgrade Singing Society which will held tonight at 8 pm a traditional New Year's concert at the National Theatre.
