Cross Set Up at The Bottom of The Black Sea in Sevastopol
30. September 2015 - 10:28A holy cross was set up at the bottom of the Black Sea this Sunday on the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross not far from St. George Monastery, the oldest in Crimea (Sevastopol).
Before settling down the cross, there was a procession with the cross from St. Vladimir Cathedral in Khersones where the cross was kept. Among the participants were clerics and inspirers of the idea from The Materyye Bobry dive club and bikers from a local branch of The Nochnye Volki club, the press service of the Sevastopol Deanery reports on Monday.
Divers made the cross from metal covered with non-corrosive material. It was set up at a depth of twenty meters on a specially made three-ton platform. A buoy will be attached to the cross to be a guide point.
Order of Holy Emperor Constantine to Ambassador of Ukraine
13. November 2013 - 15:39His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch awarded His Excellency Viktor Nedopas, Ambassador of Ukraine to Serbia, the Order of Holy Emperor Constantine at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade today on 13 November 2013 .
The high dinstinction of the Serbian Orthodox Church has been presented to Ambassador Nedopas on the occasion of the marking the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan, and as a sign of gratitude for his personal contribution to strenghtening relations between the Serbian Orthodox Church and Ukraine.
Jubilee of the Edict of Milan in Skelani

The central celebration of the jubilee of the Edict of Milan in the Diocese of Zvornik-Tuzla was held in Skelani. Their Graces Bishops Lavrentije of Sabac, Jovan of Sumadija and Hrizostom of Zvornik-Tuzla officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of priests and monks from many dioceses of our Church *(Zvornik-Tuzla, Budimlje-Niksic, Sumadija...). The choir Srbadija from Bijeljina sang responses.
Holy Emperor Constantine and the Edict of Milan
17. October 2013 - 11:36In 2013 Christian world celebrates 1700 years since the day when the Providence of God spoke through the holy Emperor Constantine and freedom was given to the Christian faith. Commemorating the 1700 years since the Edict of Milan of 313, Sebastian Press of the Western American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church published a book by Bishop Athanasius Yevtich, Holy Emperor Constantine and the Edict of Milan. The book has 72 pages and was translated by Popadija Aleksandra Petrovich. This excellent overview of the historical circumstances that lead to the conversion of the first Christian emperor and to the publication of a document that was called "Edict of Milan", was originally published in Serbian by the Brotherhood of St. Simeon the Myrrh-gusher, Vrnjci 2013. “The Edict of Milan” is calling on civil authorities everywhere to respect the right of believers to worship freely and to express their faith publicly.
Pan-Orthodox celebration of 1700 years of the Edict of Milan in German town of Trier
15. October 2013 - 15:20On Saturday, 11 October 2013 the Pan-Orthodox Holy Hiearchal Liturgy in Trier, Germany, on the occasion of the 1700 years of issuing of the Edict of Tolerance in 313 by Constantine the Great, who had his seat in this town during one whole decade.
In this Pan-Orthodox gathering Orthodox Bishops, members of the Conference of the Orthodox Bishops of Germany and other Bishops from other countries, participated. Metropolitan of Germany and Exarch for Central Europe His Eminence Augustin, who is also the president of the Episcopal Conference, officiated the Divine Liturgy in the Basilica of Saint Constantine. Great number of priests of various nationalities, as well as many believers who came from all parts of Germany, attended this magnificent and unique event.
Visit of Ecumenical Patriarch to the Serbian Orthodox Church concludes
10. October 2013 - 8:53His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew concluded the visit to our Local Orthodox Church yesterday. In a last few days His All-Holiness participated in celebrations in Belgrade, Nis and Podgorica on the occasion of the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan.
At the Belgrade airport Nikola Tesla His All-Holiness was sent off by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch and Their Graces Bishops Irinej of Backa, Ignatije of Branicevo, Maxim of Western-America, David of Krusevac, Porfirije of Jegar and Andrej of Remesiana. Dr. Mileta Radojevic, Director of the Office for Cooperation with traditional Churches and religious communities wished His All-Holiness a safe journey and presented a gift to him. Ambassador of the Republic of Greece Konstantinos Ikonomidis was also present during the sent-off at the Belgrade airport.
