Book Promotion at Serbian Cathedral in New York

The Saint Sava Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in New York City, New York invites the public to a Book Promotion on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 6pm in promotion of the soon to be released book, "The Christian Heritage of Kosovo and Metohija -The Historical and Spiritual Heartland of the Serbian People", published by the Episcopal Council of the Serbian Orthodox Church in North and South America.

Special guests, His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America of the Greek Archdiocese of America and His Grace Bishop Atanasije, retired Bishop of Hercegovina.

This book is a living testimony to the phenomenal efforts of the Serbian Orthodox Church to create an exceptional spiritual and material culture, preserving its century-old monuments and the Christian heritage of Kosovo and Metohija.

First Century Copy of Gospel of Mark Found in Mummy Mask

A recently developed technique is uncovering many previously unknown ancient documents, from copies of Homer and personal letters to writings of the New Testament.

A text that may be the oldest copy of a gospel known to exist — a fragment of the Gospel of Mark that was written during the first century, before the year 90 — is set to be published.

At present, the oldest surviving copies of the gospel texts date to the second century (the years 101 to 200).

Exhibition on Wehrmacht crimes in Serbian opens

An exhibition on crimes committed by the Wehrmacht in Serbia during World War II has opened at Dom Vojske Srbije in Belgrade.

The author of the exhibition, which includes photos and documents related to the crimes committed by Wehrmacht troops against Jews, Serbs and Roma in Serbia, is Miroljub Filipovic.

In the year behind us, we faced a flood and many of our compatriots have lost everything they had been acquiring all their lives. In addition, many other people needed support to improve their situation.
