Refurbishment of Moracnik Monastery

With the blessings of The
Archbishop of Cetinje, His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and
the Littoral, and His Grace Bishop Irinej of Australia and New Zealand, the
faithful of the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church in Perth, inspired by the
Branislav Grbovic family and led by the Very Rev. Dr. Milorad Soaktar, have
initiated a fund-raising campaign to refurbish Moracnik Monastery in
Montenegro.
The Monastery of Morachnik is situated on Skadar Lake's Island of the same name within the Zeta Mount Athos-Zetska Sveta Gora. The complex is located on the protruding cape on the southeastern side, laid almost on the very waterfront.
Archbishop of Canterbury visits Greek Orthodox Leader in Alexandria

February 2009 - 10:45The Archbishop of Canterbury has received a warm welcome from His Beatitude Theodoros II, the Greek Orthodox Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and Africa, during a visit to his residence in Alexandria. The Archbishop was invited to visit the Greek Orthodox Leader while in Alexandria for the Primates Meeting.
Catholicos Patriarch Leaves for Germany for Medical Examination
4. February 2009 - 10:40Today, at 12pm Catholicos Patriarch leaves for Germany for medical examination. As Archpriest Michael Botkoveli stated at yesterday's news conference at the Patriarchate, His Holiness and Beatitude felt fine, though Georgian and German doctors advised the Patriarch to have medical consultations at the same hospital he had had surgery couple of months ago. "There are some gossips about His Holiness' health worsening. This is false, and therefore we called the present news conference to state the truth", said Father Michael Botkoveli. Father Michael adds that only after all medical examinations it will be decided when the Patriarch returns back to Georgia. The Catholicos Patriarch spent few days at the Tbilisi Pridon Todua Clinic last week. The Patriarch had acute virus infection.

Patriarchate Delegation Returns from Moscow to Tbilisi
5. February 2009 - 10:39The delegation of the Georgian Patriarchate returned from Moscow back to Tbilisi. All five members of the delegation express their satisfaction with productive meetings in the capital of Russia. The representative of the Georgian Patriarchate state that all existed links and relations will be kept and collaboration between Russian and Georgian churches will be continues in the future. "Unlike Russian government authorities, Russian Church recognizes the sovereignty and integrity of Georgia", state the priests.

Meeting Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa and Kirill Patriarch of Moscow and All

February 2009 - 10:35On Tuesday 3rd February 2009, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa, met with His Beatitude Kirill Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia who expressed heartfelt thanks to the Venerable Primate of the Throne of St Mark for his participation in the celebrations for his enthronement.
"Your Beatitude, you led the celebrations for our joy. The Patriarchs of the Alexandrian Throne, of blessed memory, in the historic moments of the life of the Russian Orthodox Church, visited the Northern Thebaid without taking into account the dreadful cold, in order to experience together with the Russian people its joys and griefs".
