His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia arrived in Podgorica by special plane from Nis to the celebration of the 17 centuries of the Edict of Milan and the consecration of the Cathedral church of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica. 

His Eminence Amfilohije, Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral; Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk and other members of the Patriarch's delegation came to Podgorica along with His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Midland, Pennsylvania hosted Lenten Vespers on the 3rd Sunday of Lent, the Adoration of Holy Cross on the Annunciation of Our Mоst Holy Lady, and the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, for the Pittsburgh Deanery.

On the feast day of Holy Three Hierarchs Metropolitan Jovan of Zagreb-Ljubljana co-celebrated the Divine Liturgy with Bishop Jovan of Lipljan at the Cathedral church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Zagreb.

In memory of Patriarch Parthenios III of Alexandria

On 7th February 2013, the day on which the Orthodox Church celebrates the memory of our Father amongst the Saints Parthenios, Bishop of Lampsakos, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, conducted memorial prayers at the Holy Patriarchal Chapel of St Theodori at the Patriarchal See, for the repose of his late Predecessor and Spiritual Father, Patriarch Parthenios III.

With deep emotion and much gratitude, during his homily His Beatitude spoke of the life and personality of the late Patriarch who was the last Alexandrian Primate from Egypt.

Patriarch Parthenios of Alexandria (born Aris Koinidis) was born in 1919 in Port Said in Egypt, and his family came from Hios. He studied at the Theological Academy of Halkis and did post-graduate studies in Oxford and in Paris. He was ordained Deacon in 1939 and Priest in 1948. He was elected as Metropolitan of Carthage in 1958 and Patriarch of Alexandria in 1987.

It’s not so far from 10 November 2012 when the first Hierarchal Liturgy will be celebrated. Namely, His Grace Bishop Hrizostom blessed that the first Hierarchal Liturgy would be celebrated in the new church in Bihac on Saturday, 10 November, on the remembrance day of Saint Arsenije, the second Serbian Archbishop. 

Zagreb: Towards the great jubilee

The Metropolitanate of Zagreb-Ljubljana organized on 4 October 2012 the formal celebration of the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan.

The celebration began with the Divine Liturgy in the chapel of Saint Sava, the first Serbian archbishop and enlightener, at the Serbian Orthodox Grammar School and the Spiritual Centre on Sveti Duh in Zagreb. His Grace Bishop Ignjatije of Branicevo celebrated the Holy Liturgy, who is in three-day visit to the Metropolitanate of Zagreb-Ljubljana. The Bishop was concelebrated by host His Eminence Metropolitan Jovan of Zagreb-Ljubljana and Their Graces Bishops Lukijan of Osek-Polje and Sava of Slavonia and local priests.
