Serbian Patriarch IRINEJ in Krusevac

His Holiness IRINEJ, Serbian Patriarch, on the way to Gracanica, visited Krusevac on June 27, 2010 where he served the Divine Liturgy in the youngest church of Krusevac, the church of the Holy Protection of the Theotokos, with the concelebration of priesthood of Krusevac and archimandrite Aleksej (Bogicevic), and in the presense of the mayor and other city representatives.

Serbian Patriarch IRINEJ visits Kragujevac

On Sunday, on June 20,2010, His Holiness IRINEJ, Serbian Patriarch visited Kragujevac, after returning from Kosovo and Metohija. The faithful people and priesthood of the Hierarchal governorship of Kragujevac and Lepenica with His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija welcomed His Holiness cordially.

Feast Day of Venerable Father Justin of Celije celebrated

In the Celije monastery, near Valjevo, on Monday June 14/1, 2010 a feast day of Venerable Father Justin of Celije was celebrated for the first time since, the Holy Assembly of Bishops, on this year's spring session, has unanimously decided that the name of Venerable Abbe to be added to the Dyptichs of the Saints of the Orthodox Church.

In the presence of thousand believers from all parts of Serbia the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was served led by His Eminence Amfilohije, Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral. He was concelebrated by Their Graces Bishops Milutin of Valjevo, Vasilije of Zvornik-Tuzla, Irinej of Backa, Jovan of Sumadija, Lukijan of Osijek-Polje, Pahomije of Vranje, Georgije of Canada and Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic, as well as other archimandrites and monks from the Greek and Russian church, priests from the Diocese of Valjevo and other dioceses.

Consecration of St. Basil of Ostrog Serbian Church in North Carolina

The first Sunday after Pentecost is All Saints Sunday, and the coinciding Gospel reading is from St. Matthew chapter 10, where Jesus called His first disciples. His disciples would witness to His teaching and continue to spread the faith after His resurrection; and on this past Sunday this same faith and teaching is continuing in Kernersville North Carolina with the consecration of St. Basil of Ostrog Serbian Orthodox Church. Our community's faith in the face of continuous struggles has culminated in this wonderful event for many Orthodox faithful in the surrounding area of North Carolina.

Bishop Irinej in Moscow awarded the Order of Saint Tsar Nickolas II Romanov

The Council for the social rewards of the Russian Federation awarded His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa the Order of Saint  Tsar Nicholas II Romanov of the third degree. This prestigious award was presented to Bishop Irinej by Mr. Alexey Simeonovich  Tkachov in the podvorye of the Serbian Orthodox Church at the Moscow Patriarchate on Friday, May 28 this year.

After the Holy service of God, which was on Saturday, June 4 in the Prechista Krajinska Monastery in Ostros was served by His Eminence Amfilohije Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoralw with priesthood, the celebration of the feast day continued with a holiday procession in the afternoon which went through the streets of Bar, led by Metropolitan Amfilohije and Bishop Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic.
