Patriarch Porfirije: By crucifying Christ, we crucified ourselves (English, Greek)

His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Saint Demetrius in New Belgrade on 23 April 2022  (photo gallery).

The Patriarch was concelebrated by protopresbyter-staurophor Rajko Nedic, archpriests Grigorij Sapsaj, Aleksandar Bajic and Vojislav Kostic, presbyters Marko Kojic, Stevan Vasiljevic, Ivan Faranov and Zoran Nedic, archdeacon Marko (Momcilovic), protodeacon Dragan Radic and Radomir Vrucinic and deacon Nikolaj Sapsaj.

His Holiness kyr Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch celebrated the Vesper service with bringing out the Shroud on 22 April 2022, on Holy and Great Friday.

Patriarch Porfirije: The Holy Myrrh weaves us into the Body of the Church, into the Body of Christ of which He Himself is the head.

His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch officiated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy of Saint Basil the Great in the old Cathedral church of Holy Archangel Michael in Belgrade, on 21 April, 2022, on Holy and Great Thursday.

The Patriarch was concellebrated by His Beatitude kyr Jovan, Archbishop of Ochrid, and Their Graces Bishops Lukijan of Budim, Pahomije of Vranje, Jovan of Šumadija, Marko of Bregalnica, David of Kruševac, Ilarion of Timok, Arsenije of Niš, Isihije of Valjevo, Jerotej of Toplica, Sava of Marča and retired Georgije of Canada, in the prayerful presence of His Grace Bishop kyr Justin of Hvosno, Director of the Administration Board of the Patriarchate protosynchellos Danilo and Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of Bishops protosynchellos Nektarije. 

Completion of the Myrrh cooking: Consecration of the Holy Myrrh during the Liturgy in the old Cathedral Church

By pouring a new myrrh into silver amphorae the rite of myrrh cooking has been completed tonight(photo gallery).

Silver amphorae were moved from the chamber where the myrrh had been cooked and transfered in front of the Holy Table of the Patriarchate's side chapel of Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher from where next morning we will carry them in a procession into the old Cathedral Church of Saint Michael the Archangel. There we will perform consecration of the Holly Myrrh during the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy of Saint Basil the Great which begins at 9 a.m..  (live broadcast on the TV Hram Youtube channel - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB2m2eqF56k)

Third day of Myrrh cooking in the Serbian Patriarchate

In the prayerful presence of His Holiness kyr Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, His Grace Bishop kyr Marko of Bregalnica officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts in the side chapel of Venerable Simeon, the Myrrh-Gusher in Belgrade, on 20 April 2022, on Holy and Great Wednesday (photo gallery).

The Bishop was concelebrated by protopresbyter-staurophors Dragomir Ubiparipovic and Dragan Stanisic, archpriest Dragan Sovljanski, protonamesnik Miroslav Colakovic and protodeacons Radomir Percevic and Mladen Kovacevic, in prayerful presence of Their Graces Bishops David of Krusevac, Arsenije of Nis, Ilarion of Timok, Jerotej of Toplica, Justin of Hvosno and Sava of Marcha. After the Liturgy Patriarch Porfirije and hierarchs went to the Patriarchate's chamber where the rite of myrrh cooking continued.

Second day of the myrrh cooking in the Serbian Patriarchate

In the presence of His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, His Grace Bishop kyr David of Kruševac, a member of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, celebrated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts in the Patriarchate Chapel of Venerable Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher on Holy and Great Tuesday, 19 April 2022.
