170 years of the Post of Serbia

His Holiness IRINEJ Serbian Patriarch, accompanied by His Grace Vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno attended last night at the gallery the opening of the exhibition of 170 years of the Post of Serbia. The exhibits from the Belgrade Postal Museum  reminded those present of the history and the beginning of the work of the Serbian postal service.

His Holiness IRINEJ, Archbishop of Pec, Metropolitan of Belgrade-Karlovci and Serbian Patriarch received today Their Excellencies Mr. Majed Shadoud, the ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic with associates; Mr. János Kolar, the Consul General of the Republic of Hungary, and Mr. Miloje Brankovic, the honorary Consul of the Republic of Hungary; as well as Colonel Dr Jacques Oger with his wife.

 

Bishop Irinej in Moscow awarded the Order of Saint Tsar Nickolas II Romanov

The Council for the social rewards of the Russian Federation awarded His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa the Order of Saint  Tsar Nicholas II Romanov of the third degree. This prestigious award was presented to Bishop Irinej by Mr. Alexey Simeonovich  Tkachov in the podvorye of the Serbian Orthodox Church at the Moscow Patriarchate on Friday, May 28 this year.

After the Holy service of God, which was on Saturday, June 4 in the Prechista Krajinska Monastery in Ostros was served by His Eminence Amfilohije Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoralw with priesthood, the celebration of the feast day continued with a holiday procession in the afternoon which went through the streets of Bar, led by Metropolitan Amfilohije and Bishop Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic.

Inasmuch as, at the Ecumenical Patriarchate, we have long been concerned about problems related to the preservation of the natural environment, we have ascertained that the fundamental cause of the abuse and destruction of the world's natural resources is greed and the constant tendency toward unrestrained wealth by citizens in so-called "developed" nations.

New portal mosaic at St. George’s in St. Albans

The St George Serbian Orthodox Parish and Church-School Congregation in St Albans, Victoria, which is under the pastoral care of the Very Rev. Stavrophor Borislav Petrovic, has recently undertaken a series of extensive projects in order to expand, enhance and adorn the edifice of the their church building. The nave and narthex have been successfully expanded whilst being faithful to the detail on maintaining the appearance and integrity of the original structure.
