Meeting of His Beatitude Theodoros II and His Beatitude Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia

On Monday 12th April 2010, His Beatitude Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia visited the Monastery of St George in Old Cairo, accompanied by His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa. The Venerable Primates were welcomed by His Grace Niphon Bishop Babylonos, Hegumen of the Holy Monastery.

Visit of President of Serbia Mr. Tadic to SOCM Mostar

On April 13, 2010 in the afternoon President of Serbia Boris Tadic with his delegation visited the SOC Municipality of Mostar. On this occasion he visited foundations of the destroyed Orthodox Cathedral church of the Holy Trinity, the Old Mostar Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God. Words of welcome on behalf of the church community to President Tadic was sent by archimandrite Danijel (Pavlovic), heugomen of Zitomislic. President Tadic warmly expressed his support for the return of Serbs in Mostar and the restoration of life in Mostar. With the clergy from the valley of the Neretva local government representatives and representatives of the Serbian community in Mostar had the opportunity to talk with President Tadic.

Great Cross of the Apostle Mark to His Beatitude Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia

Immediately following the Patriarchal Con-celebration of the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa awarded the highest distinction of the ancient Patriarchate, the Great Cross of the Apostle Mark to His Beatitude Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, in the Throne Room of the Patriarchal Mansion. The two primates had met privately prior to this in His Beatitude's Private Patriarchal Office.

Easter concert at Sava Center

Last night, on April 11, 2010 at the Sava Center in Belgrade, a remarkable event happened. For the first time the Easter concert was held under the patronage of  His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia. Before 3000 satisfied spectators 200 performers appeared: Children's choir Magic led by Leontina Pat, the First Belgrade Singing Society, Pavle Aksentijevic and Zapis group, Biljana Krstic and Bistrik and in the end, Sonja Chok.

Telegram of condolences of Patriarch of Serbia to Metropolitan of Warsaw

On the occasion of the severe tragedy which happened on  April 10, 2010 , in the morning hours, when during the landing of the aircraft in Smolensk (Russia), in which were killed the President of the Republic of Poland Mr. Lech Kaczynski with his wife Mary and  96 persons, the members of the delegation of the highest state authorities of the Republic of Poland, among those was His Eminence Archbishop Dr. Miron of the Orthodox Ordinary of the Polish Army, Brigadier General and Bishop of Hajnówka, with three clerics of the Polish Orthodox Church, we ask You, along with all the bishops, priests, monks and believers, to accept our sincere condolences.

We pray to God for the repose of their souls, and for all of you to give comfort in pain.

His Beatitude the Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa Kyr Theodoros II in official visit to the only Serbian Orthodox parish

Members of the Serbian community and the faithful of the only Serbian Orthodox parish in Africa, were blessed with great blessing and spiritual support just before the holy days of Week of Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ and the feast of feasts, the Resurrection of Christ. On Friday, March 26th, on the eve of St. Lazarus's Saturday, the Serbian Orthodox parish of St Thomas the Apostle in Johannesburg was visited by His Beatitude Theodoros II , the Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa. His Beatitude was accompanied by His Eminence Seraphim, Archbishop of Johannesburg and Pretoria, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Pantelejmon, personal secretary at the Office of His Beatitude in Alexandria, and our dear priest from Johannesburg, the Reverend Father Athinodoros Papaevripaides.

The welcoming ceremony was attended, among many gathered members of our church community in Johannesburg and members of our parish, by President and Vice President of the Church Committee, Mr. Igor Marinkovic and Mr. Predrag Sarovic, and members of the Church Committee, Mr. Zivojin Jovanovic, Mr. Ivo Zecevic and Mrs. Mirjana Mihaljevic. His Excellency the Ambassador of Serbia in South Africa, Mr. Goran Vujicic also attended this ceremony, as well as Father Daniel, the Rector of the Russian Orthodox parish of St. Sergius of Radonez in Johannesburg, Hieromonk Seraphim (Van Niekerk), Deacon Stephen (Hayes) and student of the Orthodox Seminary of Patriarch Petros VII in Johannesburg, the brother Chrysostom, who comes from the African Orthodox family and whose immediate family members serve God as priests and monastic clergy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
