Bishop Teodosije receives high delegation of the Italian Parliament

His Grace Vicar Bishop Teodosije of Lipljan has received today at the Visoki Dechani Monastery a high delegation of the Italian Parliament. Mr. Stefano Stefani, the President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian Parliament, led the delegation.

Bishops Atanasije and Teodosije served the Liturgy in Velika Hoca

The Administrator of the Raska-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija Diocese Bishop Atanasije has served today the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of St. Stephen the Protomartyr in Velika Hoča together with Bishop Teodosije and the clergy of the Diocese. Bishop Atanasije spoke in his sermon on the Fest of St. Gregory Palamas, the meaning of the Christian life, the Holy Communion and the Liturgical community in the Church of Christ. Many children and the faithful received the Holy Communion.

The Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church has decided that the enthronement ceremony of His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia, originally planned for April 25, 2010 of this year, be postponed to the fall. The new date has not yet been determined, and the public will be informed about it on time.

The reason for delay is lack of time available for an adequate organizational and logistical preparation of this important spiritual event, as well as a need that distinguished guests, local and from the world, have the opportunity to respond, and not because of the short time they cannot not do it.

Visit of Minister Vuk Jeremic to the Serbian Patriarchate

His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia has received today, on March 1, 2010 in a working visit Mr. Vuk Jeremic, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia. The meeting was attended by His Grace Bishop Irinej of Bachka, member of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the SOC, and His Grace Vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno.

Fr John Behr’s Homily at Westchester Pan-Orthodox Vespers

Members of the St Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary community attended the Pan-Orthodox Vespers on the Sunday of Orthodoxy (2/21/10), celebrated this year at Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, Yonkers. Communique of the Diocesan Council of the Orthodox Church in Montenegro

After conciliar Holy Hierarchal Liturgy served in the crypt of the church of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica and participation in a formal St. Simeon's  procession from the Church to Nemanja's town on the Ribnica, place of birth of St. Simeon the Myrrh-gusher, Diocesan Council of the Orthodox Church in Montenegro held its session at the temple of the Resurrection.

The Diocesan Council thanked for the brotherly visit and participation in the ceremony to Their Graces Bishops Vasilije of Zvornik-Tuzla, Jovan of Shumadia, Sava of Slavonia, Joakim of Polog-Kumanovo(the Archbishopric of Ohrid), as well as priesthood from their and other dioceses.
