With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Irinej, on April 30th, 2017, the St. George North Canton community hosted a series of events in support of St. Vladimir’s Seminary, beginning first with an alumni gathering in their Event Center lounge sponsored by St. George Slava kumovi Ken and Jeanine Kozak.

Surrounded by elegant decorations, priests came from parishes in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia to enjoy fellowship and share stories from their days at seminary.  The lounge opened for a general reception one-hour later with other clergy and laity joining the St. Vladimir’s alums for pre-banquet fellowship and hospitality offered by the parish kumovi.

On Sunday, 17th/30th April 2017, the Myrrh-bearers Sunday, His Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of the Annunciation in the area of Abdali of Amman in Jordan.

On Sunday afternoon, 17th/30th April 2017, after the festal Liturgy at the Holy Church of the Annunciation in Amman, Jordan, His Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos visited the Holy Monastery of the Life-giving Spring in Dibin, which is one-hour drive from Amman.  The Spiritual Father of the Monastery is Archimandrite Christophoros and Nun Eirinaia is the Abbess.

Patriarch Ilia II baptizes another 1,173 children

This past Sunday the holy Myrrhbearing Women were celebrated in all Orthodox churches throughout the world, and on the day of these holy women who became the first witnesses and heralds of the Lord’s Resurrection, more than 1,000 Georgian children were united to the risen Lord in the holy Sacrament of Baptism, reports Romfea. The latest in the regular mass Baptisms was celebrated in Tbilisi’s Holy Trinity Cathedral by His Holiness Patriarch-Catholicos Ilia II. 1,173 children were baptized on Sunday, while over 800 were baptized at the previous celebration on the feast of Theophany in January. The patriarch blessed all of his new Godchildren, giving each one a baptismal cross.

On Friday 28th April 2017, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, gave a warm welcome to His Holiness the Archbishop of Constantinople, New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomaios I, at the Holy Monastery of St George in Old Cairo.

The Ecumenical Patriarch is visiting Egypt, because of his participation in the deliberations of the International Peace Conference, of the Al-Azhar Foundation.
