Relics from Simonopetra Monastery are visiting Romania

  On October 16, 2015, clergy and laity of the Romanian Orthodox Church solemnly met the relics of St. Mary Magdalene, Equal-to-the-Apostles, at the Bucharest airport. The relics were brought from the Simonopetra Monastery on Mt. Athos, reports Afonit.info.

Khmer version of Orthodox Prayer Book comes out

The Thailand Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church has published a Khmer version of the Orthodox Prayer Book at the request of the Orthodox faithful in Cambodia. Thus the initiative group composed of both Orthodox Khmers and Orthodox Christians from traditionally Orthodox countries who reside in Cambodia, has completed its year-long work.

The members of the 5th Episcopal Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of Oceania welcomed the opportunity to meet in Sydney on Tuesday 13th October, 2015, under the chairmanship ex officio of His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos of Australia.

Georgia Celebrates Svetitskhovloba Honoring Historical Cathedral and City

 Georgia’s ancient capital city and its World Heritage monument are being celebrated nationwide today.

Each year on October 14 Georgia celebrates the Svetitskhovloba holiday, where Orthodox Christian pilgrims and visitors flock to the country’s ancient capital city Mtskheta, just outside Tbilisi, to mark the annual day of the city and its unique cathedral.

On Sunday 11th October 2015, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, on his return from his pastoral visit to the Holy Metropolis of Zimbabwe, and so concluding his visit to South Africa, stayed for one day in Johannesburg and conducted the Liturgy at the Holy Church of St Sergius of Radonezh, of the Russian Community in South Africa.
