The Feast of the Elevation of the Holy Cross at the Patriarchate of Jerusalem

On Sunday, the 14^th/27^th of September 2015, the Patriarchate celebrated the feast of the glorious Elevation of the Holy Cross.

The feast commemorates the elevation, in the year 326 AD – upon the ceremony of the Inauguration of the Church of the Resurrection – of the Lord’s Cross, found by Archbishop Makarios of the Church of Jerusalem and Empress Helen. On that day, the crowd that gathered to see the elevated cross had exclaimed “Kyrie eleison” [Lord have mercy] several times.

Russian Military Participation in Syria Should Bring Peace to Region - Patriarch Kirill

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has expressed hope that Russia's participation in the Syrian conflict will bring peace to the region.

"The Russian Federation has made a responsible decision to use armed forces to defend the people of Syria from the sorrows caused by the arbitrariness of terrorists. We believe this decision will bring peace and justice closer to this ancient land," the patriarch said in a statement quoted by the press service for the Synodal Information Department on Wednesday.

His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied by the Reverend Protopresbyter Athinodoros Papaevripiades, Exarch of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Cyprus, went to Erevan in Armenia from 25th to the 30th September 2015, by invitation of His Beatitude the High Catholikos Patriarch of all Armenians, Karekin II, to attend the events marking the 100th anniversary of the Genocide of the Armenians.

His Beatitude Daniel celebrates on Wednesday, 30 September 2015, the 8^th anniversary of the enthronement as Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church (30 September 2007).

The Romanian Patriarch will officiate at the Divine Liturgy, from 09:30, in the Patriarchal Cathedral, assisted by hierarchs, members of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church, priests and deacons.

A new Romanian Orthodox Church has been consecrated in Troy (USA)

The Romanian Orthodox Community in Troy – Michigan (USA) was dressed on Saturday, 19 September 2015, in feast garments. After long efforts,St Nicholas and Pious Paraskeva Church was consecrated in Troy.

On this event, His Grace Bishop Timotei Prahoveanul, Assistant bishop to the Archbishopric of Bucharest, was the delegate of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania.
