Wednesday, 27 May 2015, the Divine Liturgy and Te Deum service were celebrated in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Spiridon the New of Bucharest to mark the beginning of the spring semestral pastoral missionary conference. The Conference benefits of the participation of the clergy of six deaneries of Bucharest and of two of Ilfov county, of the priests of charity (from hospitals, cemeteries, social and military institutions, and prisons) of Bucharest and of Ilfov county, of the clergy employees of the Eparchial Centre, clergy teaching staff within the institutions of high and seminarian education of Bucharest and of Ilfov county, of the rt rev exarch, and of the abbots and abbesses of the monasteries of Bucharest and of Ilfov county.

President Of The National Assembly Of Bulgaria On A Visit To The Romanian Patriarchate

On 9 June 2015, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel received at the patriarchal residence of Bucharest a delegation of the National Assembly of Bulgaria, headed by president Tsetska Tsacheva, who was paying an official visit to Romania. Aleksandar Filipov, extraordinary and plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Bucharest was also present.

Russia initiates a Mission on protecting Christians in the Middle East

A Mission on protecting Christians of the Middle East will be set up in Lenanon, Syria, and Palestine, says Alexey Cherkezov, the organizational committee leader of the 3rd Forum of Russia’s Christian Youth held in Sochi, resuming its results.

The newly established international organization will be called The Christian World. Its goal is to activate work of institutes in Russia’s civil society and in other countries and cooperate in observing norms of international law, social ministry and religious dialogue.

The 70th Anniversary of the Betrayal of the Cossacks in Lienz is Remembered

On June 1, 2015, a memorial service was held at the Chapel of the Protection of the Mother of God and Royal Martyr Tsarevich Alexei in Lienz, Austria, to mark the 70th anniversary of the betrayal of the Cossacks by the Allies following World War II. This was one of the most tragic post-war events, during which, despite assurances to the contrary, thousands of Cossacks were forcibly repatriated to the USSR to face certain imprisonment and death.

His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia led the service.

On 6 June 2015, the Moscow Synodal choir gave a concert at the centre of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Etchmiadzin, in the context of commemoration of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

Patriarch Irinej in Oakville, Ontario

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, administrator of the Diocese of Canada, visited on Monday, June 8, 2015 the Serbian community and the Sts. Peter and Paul parish in Oakville, Ontario.

The Serbian Patriarch was welcomed by the dean of the church, V. Rev. Zlatibor Djurasevic and a large number of parishioners. Following the Doxology service, served by Fr. Zlatibor and Protodeacon Damjan Bozic, the parish priest welcomed the Patriarch saying: "It is a rare occasion to welcome the first hierarch of our holy Church. We know that you bring us peace and love, and to your fatherly care we return our great joy. In this time of unrest, this time of troubles, you have come before us to encourage us, to strengthen us and to stabilize us. Today you are with us as a father who with divine wisdom teaches his children. You shower us with gifts of love, peace and harmony. I give thanks to God and to you together with my entire flock. Thank you for your visit, Holy Bishop!"
