Patriarch of Alexandria meets with the President of Madagascar

The most significant part of the trip to the Holy Metropolis of Madagascar made by His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, was his meeting with His Excellency the President of the Republic of Madagascar, Mr. Hery Rajaonarimampianina, on 3rd June 2015. His Beatitude was accompanied to the Presidential Palace by the local Metropolitan Ignatios, His Excellency the Ambassador of the republic of Egypt to Madagascar Mr. Cherif Abbas, the Honorable Consul of Greece and Cyprusin Madagascar Mr. Panagiotis Taloumis, Archimandrite Markos Theodosi and the African Priest Fr. Stefanos.

On 3rd June 2015, the Patriarch flew to Manakara where he was welcomed by the district commissioner and crowds of people. The Alexandrian Primate visited the offices of the district commissioner where he offered spiritual words to the people of the area and told them to have patience for a better future in the difficult circumstances under which they live, as the people live on what nature produces, in some of the rarest flora and fauna in the world.

Primate of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem meets with Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine

On June 2, 2015, His Beatitude Onufry, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, began his pilgrimage to Jerusalem. He is accompanied by clergy and laity from Ukraine.

On June 3, the Day of Ss Constantine and Helen Equal-to-the-Apostles, Metropolitan Onufry attended a reception given in honour of the Ukrainian delegation by Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem. The event, which took place at the Patriarchate of Jerusalem grand hall, was also attended by clergymen and monks of the Holy Sepulchre Brotherhood and members of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem.

Inauguration of the church of the Entrance of the Theotokos in Madagascar

  On 31st May 2015, the Sunday of Pentecost, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa officiated at Matins, performed the inauguration of the newly-built Holy Church of the Entrance of the Theotokos in the Andoharanofotsy area of Madagascar and then conducted the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy in the Church which was filled with the faithful, especially children holding the flags of Greece and Madagascar and following with interest the inauguration of the Church.

Orthodox orphanage for 200 children inagurated In Madagascar

  On 30th May 2015, the second day of his visit to the Holy Metropolis of Madagascar, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa visited Andoharanofotsy, where in the presence of His Excellency the Ambassador of Egypt and the Mayor of the city, he inaugurated the new girls orphanage  which will house 200 poor and orphaned children.

Jordanville, NY: Metropolitan Jonah leads Divine Services for Pentecost in Holy Trinity Monastery

  On Saturday the 30th and Sunday the 31st of May, the clergy and brethren of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY celebrated the great feast of Holy Pentecost – the Descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles. Leading the All-Night Vigil on Saturday evening and the Divine Liturgy and Great Vespers on Sunday morning was His Eminence, Metropolitan Jonah (former Primate of Orthodox Church in America).
