Patriarch Irinej in Ljubljana: There is no difference among people no matter what religion they belong to

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, attended the act of inauguration of the newly built Parish Centre by the Orthodox church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Ljubljana.
After the talks with the Orthodox faithful, who had come from all parts of Slovenia, as well as from Italy and Austria, the Patriarch celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Sts. Cyril and Methodius in the centre of Ljubljana with the concelebration of many hierarchs and priests. At the end of the Liturgy the Patriarch delivered a sermon in presence of a great number of believers in the churchyard and called upon them to attend church services regularly. The Serbian Patriarch admonished them to respect their new homeland and to maintain good relations with Slovenians, because “the Serbs have always been in good relations with Slovenians”. The Patriarch also called upon the Serbian people to respect citizens of other religions, “since we are all the children of God and there is no difference among people no matter what religion they belong to”.

21. May 2018 - 8:31On the second day of the patriarchal visitation to Slovenia, on the 19th May 2018, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, arrived to Ljubljana, where he visited the Ljubljana City Fortress and met with the Mayor of Ljubljana Mr. Zoran Jankovic.
In the afternoon, His Holiness, accompanied by Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana and Bishop Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac, Arsenije of Nis and Nikodim of Dalmatia, attended the vesper service in the church of Sts. Cyril and Methodius. Following the vesper service, Metropolitan Porfirije addressed His Holiness Patriarch and welcomed him on behalf of Orthodox people in Slovenia. His Holiness Irinej expressed his deep gratitude for the attention and warned the congregation to preserve and love their faith and convey it to younger generations.

19. May 2018 - 13:45His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, began his canonical visitation to Slovenia on 18 May 2018.
Along with Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana and priest in charge, presbyter Dejan Mandic, His Holiness visited the Mayor of Koper Mr. Boris Popovic. At the City Hall where Mayor welcomed the Serbian dignitary, the guests were informed about the history of the city of Koper, the current situation in the area, as well as about the conditions of life of the Serbian national minority living there. Following the meeting, the Patriarch visited a location where a new Orthodox church is going to be built.
The Ascension of the Lord – Patron Feast of the City of Belgrade

The Divine Liturgy celebrated in the church of the Ascension of the Lord in Belgrade and a solemn procession through central streets of the City of Belgrade marked Belgrade’s Patronal feast – Ascension of the Lord on 17 May 2018. Holy Liturgy was presided over by His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Irinej with the concelebration of Their Eminence Archbishop Peter of Chicago and the Midwestern America (Russian Orthodox Church), protopresbyter-staurophor Professor Dr. Vladimir Vukasinovic, Vajo Jovic and Milosav Radojevic, protopresbyter Aleksandar Mihajlovic presbyter Slavisa Popovic and Predrag Timotijevic, deacon Stevica Rapajic and Igor Davidovic.
Baptism and Hierarchal Divine Liturgy in Lackawanna

May 2018 - 13:14On April 21, 2018, the faithful gathered with several priests and deacons, led by His Grace, Irinej, Bishop of Eastern America, at the church of the Holy Protomartyr and Archdeacon Stephen. The purpose of the Saturday gathering was twofold: to celebrate the Holy Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, over which Bishop Irinej presided, and to baptize Amos Golić, the infant son of protonamesnik Vladislav Golić, parish priest in Lackawanna, and his wife Sara. More than 200 souls participated in the festive service.

10. May 2018 - 19:30His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch awarded Mr. Nikos Anastasiades with the highest medal of the Serbian Orthodox Church, order of Saint Sava of the First Degree, at the ceremony in the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on 10 May 2018.
