Centenary of the death of King Peter the First

One century since the death of King Peter I Karadjordjevic, the Liberator King when the Serbian people and Serbian soldier called Chika Pera out of mercy, was marked with prayer and the highest honors on August 16, 2021 in the heart of Sumadija.

In Oplenac, in the church of the Holy Great Martyr George, the founder's church of King Peter, His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch celebrated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy and the memorial service with the concelebration of His Grace Bishop Ignjatije of Branicevo, Arsenije of Nis, former Georgije of Canada and Jovan of Sumadija, as well as priests and deacons from several dioceses of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Brothers and sisters,
Dear friends,

I felt obliged to address you now, first of all, to wish the Orthodox a blessed beginning of fasting dedicated to the Most Holy Mother of God and the glorious event of Her Dormition, that is, the end of her earthly life and her taking up into Heaven. I wish you to spend the next ten days, as much as possible, in peace, to joyfully celebrate the upcoming feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, and to pray for your neighbors, for our family and the whole world to the Most Holy Mother of God whose soul is, as shown in the magnificent fresco of Sopocani, in the hands of her beloved Son, the Savior of the world.

Patron Saint-day of Saint Panteleimon Church in Bijeljina

The Patron Saint-day of the church of Saint Panteleimon in Bijeljina was solemnly celebrated with the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy officiated by His Grace Bishop Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla.

After the Holy Liturgy, His Grace Bishop Fotije awarded the Order of Saint Sava of the second degree to Mr. Ljubo Stevic for his great contribution to the renovation and construction of shrines in the Diocese of Zvornik-Tuzla. On that occasion, Bishop Fotije emphasized the importance of unity and awareness of preserving the endowment spirit that the holy Nemanjics planted in the Serbian people.

Seven years of the episcopal ministry of Bishop Ilarion

His Grace Bishop Ilarion of Timok celebrated the seventh anniversary of his ordination and the enthronement to the throne of the Bishops of Timok, on August 10, 2021.

On that occasion, in the church of the Holy Father Nicholas in Donji Milanovac, His Grace Bishop Ilarion celebrated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy together with His Grace Bishop Kiril of Buenos Aires and South-Central America,  Archimandrites Stefan, Kozma and Jovan; protopresbyter-staurophor Luka Jovic, protosynchellos Zaharije, archpriests Sasa Stepanovic and Ivan Milanovic, hieromonk Enoh, protonamesnik Radoje Mijovic, presbyter Nikola Stojanc, archdeacon Ilija, and deacons Vuk Jovanovic and Uros Pamucar.

On the occasion of the Patron Saint-day of Donji Milanovac, the feast of the Holy Great Martyr Panteleimon, His Holiness Porfirije officiated the Holy Hierarchial Liturgy in the church of the Holy Father Nicholas in Donji Milanovac.

Their Graces Bishops Arsenije of Nis, Kirilo of Buenos-Aires and South-Central America, Nikodim of Dalmatia, Ilarion of Timok, elected Bishop Sava of Marca, archimandrite Stefan, Jovan and Kozma; protosynchelos Zaharije, archdeacon Ilija, deacon Radomir Vrucinic, hierodeacon Roman and marko, deacon Vuk Jovanovic and lots of clergy and monastics. The church choir of the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Zajecar contributed to the beauty of the worship service.
