St. Sava's Day Celebration in Philadelphia

February 2018 - 14:55On Sunday January 28, St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox in Elkins Park (Philadelphia) PA. celebrated it’s church-school Krsna Slava of St. Sava, first Archbishop of the Serbian and Costal Lands and Enlighener of the Serbians. Following Divine Liturgy, the Slavski Kolach and Koljivo were blessed in church, with all the children participating.
St. Sava in North Canton, Ohio
5. February 2018 - 14:16On January 28th, the parish community of St. George in North Canton, Ohio enjoyed their annual St. Sava celebration. The day began with Divine Liturgy, which featured a full contingent of altar servers. The Resurrectional Troparion of the day was sung by Sophia Pavichevich, age 10, a member of the St. George Middle School class. New members of the Parish Council were sworn in following Divine Liturgy as Father Aleksa thanked the outgoing Council on their dedicated service during the 2017 calendar year.

4. February 2018 - 12:05His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch received Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary -General and Head of the United Nations Interim Administration in Kosovo (UNMIK) Zahir Tanin at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on February 2nd, 2018.
The audience was attended by Representative of the UN Secretary-General and the Director of the UN Office in Belgrade Mrs. Simona-Mirela Miculescu and His Grace Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren.
Celebration of Saint Sava’s feast-day in Banja Luka
3. February 2018 - 15:19His Grace Bishop Jefrem of Banjaluka served, on the occasion of the feast-day of Saint Sava, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Cathedral church of Christ the Saviour in Banja Luka.
After the Holy Liturgy, there was a rite of blessing and cutting the slava cake. The young ones received some gifts. The feast-day of Saint Sava was celebrated throughout Banjaluka – in schools, with solemn performances and slava rites as well as at the Cultural Centre of Banski Dvor where a traditional Saint Sava Academy was held.
