On the student patron feast celebration of St. Sava at Cambridge University.
1. February 2018 - 16:57With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Dositej diocese for Great Britain & Scandinavia, Serbian students at Cambridge University celebrated their patron and intercessor before our Lord and God, the first Serbian Archbishop St. Sava.
The rite of blessing the Slava wheat, wine and bread was celebrated by protopresbyter - stavrophore Aleksandar Ilic, parish priest of St. John the Baptist church in Halifax, West Yorkshire. The host of the Slava was Mr. Luka Bojovic from Gornji Milanovac. For next year’s Slava the honour of hosting was accepted by Mr. Ivan Tanasijevic from Zrenjanin.
Vicar Bishop of South America Visits Phoenix, Arizona
1. February 2018 - 16:28This year’s annual Patronal Feast Day – Slava Celebration on Sunday, January 28th, 2018 at St Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Phoenix, Arizona, was very special in many ways, but most of all on the account of the visit of their Graces Bishop Maksim and Bishop Kirilo.
Bishop Kirilo was elected as hierarch almost four years ago as a Vicar Bishop to His Eminence Amfilohije of Montenegro, with a special appointment to take care of our Church in South America, for the first time visited Phoenix as a part of his larger North American tour.
Foundation Stone for the Penitentiary Institution Pozarevac - Zabela

February 2018 - 12:42On the day of the Veneration of the Precious Chains of the Holy and All-Glorious Apostle Peter, His Grace Bishop Ignatije of Branicevo served the rite of blessing of the foundation stone for the church dedicated to Sts. Peter and Paul the Apostles at the Penitentiary institution Pozarevac-Zabela.
Revd. Nikola Marjanovic, spiritual father at the Penitentiary institution Zabela, and some clergymen concelebrated with the Diocesan Bishop in presence of the acting director of the Administration for executing criminal sanctions Mr. Dejan Carevic, employees and members of the local community of the town Pozarevac. After more than a century and a half of its existence this institution for executing criminal sanctions is going to have its own church.
Patronal Celebration of Saint Sava in Los Angeles
1. February 2018 - 9:32A brisk sunny morning has dawned on Januuary 27th, 2018, when the Serbian Church liturgically commemorates the greatest enlightener and the First Archbishop of Serbia, Saint Sava.
In Saint Sava’s Parish of Los Angeles, created through equal to the apostolic efforts of Saint Sebastian Dabovic in 1909, final preparations for the celebration of the one who, for centuries, has been teaching and inspiring Serbs all around the globe how to remain on “the path that leads to Life” (according to his troparion), were being executed in haste.
“Jasenovac – The Right to Remembrance”
31. January 2018 - 16:14On Thursday, January 25, 2018, His Excellency Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic opened “Jasenovac – The Right to Remembrance” Exhibition at the United Nations in New York City.
Present for the opening were His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America, Their Excellencies Ambassador Djerdj Matkovic of the Embassy of Serbia to the United States of America, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Milan Milanovic, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Serbia to the United Nations, as well as the Honorable Consul General of Serbia to the United States. Numerous members of other Diplomatic and Consular Corps were also present, as well as academics, artists and other dignitaries. Most notable was the presence and living testimony of survivors of fascist-operated concentration camps in the Independent State of Croatia during World War II, including those incarcerated in children’s camps.
Bishop Grigorije celebrated Liturgy in Paris on the feast-day of Saint Sava
31. January 2018 - 14:11On Saturday, January 27th, on the feast-day of Saint Sava, as well as on the Sunday of January 28th, 2018, upon the invitation of Bishop Luka of Western Europe, His Grace Bishop Grigorije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina officiated the Divine Liturgy in Paris.
In the Paris church dedicated to Saint Sava, the Eucharistic celebration was marked with the ordination of Deacon Nenad Ilic as presbyter, who is to serve as a parish priest in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
