His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received Mr. Panos Kammenos, Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Greece, at the Serbian Patriarchate Palace in Belgrade on 24 May 2017.

The Honorable Minister expressed his gratitude to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church for a gift as well as for the warm and friendly reception during which they discussed various aspects of life of people both in Serbia and Greece and some topics of general interest. The Serbian Patriarch Irinej thanked the distinguished guest for the visit and the delivered gift, wishing him abundant blessings from the Lord and a full success in his future work.

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received Mr. Robert Singer, executive director of the World Jewish Congress, at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on 23 May 2017.

Mr. Singer expressed his gratitude to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the warm and friendly reception during which they discussed various aspects of life and the problems faced by the peoples in Serbia, the Middle East and in Europe. The Serbian Patriarch Irinej thanked the distinguished guest for the visit and respect for the Serbian people, wishing him divine blessings in his future activities.

The Ascension of the Lord – Patron Feast of the City of Belgrade

The Divine Liturgy celebrated in the church of the Ascension of the Lord in Belgrade and a solemn procession through central streets of the City of Belgrade marked Belgrade’s Patronal feast – Ascension of the Lord (photo gallery - Deacon Dragan Tanasijević).

Holy Liturgy was presided over by His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Irinej with the concelebration of Their Graces Bishop Irinej of Eastern America and Antonije, Vicar Bishop of Moravice. The Bishop Irinej pointed out in his sermon that the Feast of the Ascension was the feast connecting heaven and earth.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander hosted a dinner at the White Palace in honour of Arch hierarchs of the Serbian Orthodox Church who are participating in the regular Church Assembly.

The dinner was attended by His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia with Metropolitans and Bishops of the Church, Prof. Dr. Mileta Radojevic Serbian Government Director for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities, and members of the advisory bodies to the Crown.

Bishop Lukijan of Osijek-Polje and Baranja reposed in the Lord

Bishop Lukijan of Osijek-Polje and  Baranja fell asleep in the Lord in the afternoon of 24 May 2017 at the Clinical Hospital Center in Osijek, Croatia.

Bishop Lucian (Vladulov) was born on 9 May 1933 in Heifeldt (today's New Kolarci in Banat). He finished the Theological Seminary in Sremski Karlovici as well as the Theological Faculty of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Belgrade.

The Orthodox Christian Fellowship experience at Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania was strengthened during the recently completed academic year. John Thompson, Dr. Ezekiel Olagoke and Dr. Richard Romanos Pierce from the faculty and staff of Waynesburg University were active with students throughout year.
