On the Seventh Sunday after Pascha, May 28, 2017, parishioners of St. Sava Church in Seattle celebrated their Patronal Feast Day- Transfer of the Relics of St. Sava.

Episcopal Dean, Very Rev. Vidoslav Vujasin from Portland served the Divine Liturgy together with parish priest Rev. Zoran Aleksic. After reading of the Holy Gospel, addressing the faithful, Fr. Vidoslav spoke of the High Priestly Prayer of Jesus and about our role in the Church as God's chosen.

This event was in honor of the Feast of St. Cyril and Methodius, the two holy brothers who were Byzantine Christian theologians and Christian missionaries to the Slavic people. The Cyrillic Day was organized for the first time on May 21, 2017, here in Atlanta. It took place in the central library for Gwinnett County in Lilburn (the same city where we are building our Serbian church).

On Sunday May 21st, St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church of Greater Philadelphia joyously celebrated Its patronal feast day of the Transfer of the relics of St. Nicholas. Prior to the conclusion of Divine Liturgy, the clergy and faithful went in procession around the church. At the conclusion of the gestalt procession, the Slavski kolach and koljivo were blessed at the entrance of the church.

On the Sixth Sunday after Pascha, on the celebration of feast of St John the Evangelist, in the North Porth parish, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Presbyter Fr Sasa Djurdjevic. Approximately 50 faithful, among whom were ten Russian Orthodox faithful, who with their majestic chanting, together with the choir, helped beautify the Liturgical assemblage. Following the Liturgy, a luncheon was prepared and served to all present.

On Saturday May 20, 2017 St. Stevan of Dechani Serbian Orthodox Church in Columbus Ohio, organized a Youth Day. It is a special day dedicated to all the youth in the parish. St. Stevan’s Church has been organizing Youth Days since 2012. This was our Spring Youth Day and traditionally we also have one at the end of Summer.

This past Sunday St. Nicholas in Monroeville, PA celebrated their parish Slava one day before the Transfer of the Relics of St. Nicholas. Honored Kumovi this year were the deserving Steven and Patricia Popovich (and daughter Natalia and husband Leo). Very Rev. Father George Veselinovich led the congregation around the church for Gospel readings and prayers at each point of the cross. Before the banquet our Kumovi helped Father George turn the Slavski Kolach (baked by Natalia) in the church.
