St. John the Wonderworker Family Camp

July 2016 - 13:08St. John the Wonderworker Family Camp - 175 participants have now arrived home after five grace-filled days (July 4-8th) in a beautiful lakeside natural setting a half-hour from Eugene, Oregon where the St. John the Wonderworker Family Camp (inaugurated in 2000) recently concluded its 13th annual Family Camp. The Camp, the only Orthodox Christian Family Camp in the country, offers unique opportunities for Orthodox Christians – single adults, parents, infants, toddlers, pre-teens, and teens – especially those throughout the Northwest, for prayer and fellowship together. The St. John the Wonderworker Family Camp is blessed by His Grace Bishop Maxim of the Serbian Diocese of Western America and is sponsored by the parish of St. John the Wonderworker in Eugene, Oregon.
Biography of Archimandrite Siluan (Mrakic), Bishop Electus of Metropolitanate of Australia and New Zealand
27. July 2016 - 12:15Archimandrite Siluan (Mrakić), MTh, born Alexander, comes from a devout and pious family from the Herzegovina hamlet of Budim Do, in the Trebinje district.
He was born on the Feast Day of Holy Prophet Moses, 17 September 1979, in Sydney Australia, the son of Veljko and Janja (nee Vukanovic) Mrakic, and baptized the same year in the Serbian Orthodox Church of St Nicholas in Blacktown, Sydney.
In Sydney, he finished his primary education at Parramatta Primary School and secondary school at Author Phillip High School. He entered the Seminary of St Peter of Cetinje in Montenegro in 1995, with the blessing of the then Bishop of Australia and New Zealand, His Grace Luka (Kovacevic). Upon completion of seminary studies in 2003, with the blessing of the succeeding Bishop of Australia and New Zealand, His Grace Nikanor (Bogunovic), he entered the Theological Institute of the Orthodox Theological Faculty in Belgrade, where he graduated in 2005.
After the completion of studies at the Theological Institute in Belgrade, he returned to Australia where he became a novice at the St Sava—New Kalenich Monastery near Canberra, with the then Bishop of Australia and New Zealand, His Grace Milutin (Knezevic). In this capacity, at the proposal of Bishop Milutin, in 2006, he continued his obedience in the newly formed Diocese of Valjevo. Shortly thereafter, he entertained theological training in Russia, enrolling in studies at the Moscow Spiritual Academy at the Holy Trinity—St Sergius Lavra.
Consecration of Bishop Electus Kiril of Dioclea

The consecration of Archimandrite MSc Kiril Bojovic, Bishop Electus of Dioclea, will be performed at the Cathedral church of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica on Sunday, July 31st, 2016.
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, will officiate the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy together with many Hierarchs of the Serbian Church beginning at 8 a.m. The rite of proclamation will be performed also at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ on the previous day, Saturday of July 30th, 2016 at 7 p.m.

Holy Trinity Mission Celebrates Slava
21. July 2016 - 9:19His Grace, Bishop Dr. Mitrophan accepted Holy Trinity Mission in Fairmont, West Virginia into the Eastern Diocese on April 15, 2000. His Grace blessed the existing chapel when serving the first Hierarchical Divine Liturgy.
Scientific Conference in Podgorica: Saint John Vladimir and his place in Serbian history, culture and spirituality
8. July 2016 - 14:26In the laura of Saint Symeon the Myrrhgusher in Nemanja’s town Podgorica a scientific conference with the theme “Saint John Vladimir and his place in Serbian history, culture and spirituality” was held on 2 July 2016.
The conference on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the Martyr’s death was organized by the newly founded Institute for Serbian Culture from Niksic. His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije spoke on the topic “Saint John Vladimir above East and West”.
