Stewardship meeting held at Lebanon, Pennsylvania

On Sunday, October 07, 2012, David Batrich met with the parishioners of Holy Resurrection of Christ, Serbian Orthodox Church in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. “This is the third oldest parish in the United States and has a strong community and tradition” said David. “We are implementing Stewardship” added Father Chris Rocknage, “and asked David to present an overview of Stewardship.”

New church and parish centre in Ottawa consecrated

On Sunday, October 7, 2012 on the feast day of St. Stefan the First-Crowned, St. King Vladislav, St. David of Serbia and Holy first martyr Tecla, foundations of the new church and parish centre in Ottawa were consecrated. His Grace Bishop Georgije of Canada served the consecration with the concelebration of the competent priest  f. Aleksandar Gujanicic and deacon Stefan Ikonomovski with the presence of the Mnaging board and many believers.

Meeting of the Committee for Kosovo and Metohija

After the meeting of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Patriarchate of Pec a meeting of the Committee for Kosovo and Metohija of the Holy Assembly of Bishops was held. It was presided by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Kyr Irinej, and along with the members of the Holy Synod there were members of the Committee, Their Graces Kyr Teodosije, Bishop of Raska-Prizren and Kyr Jovan Bishop of Lipljan, and Their Graces Kyr Lavrentije Bishop of Sabac and Kyr David Bishop of Stobi attended the meeting.

NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe in Patriarchate of Pec

Admiral James Stavridis, NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe, visited  with KFOR Commander Folker Halbauer Stauropegial Laura of the Patriarchate of Pec in Metohija on Thursday, October 11, 2012 . Admiral Stavridis was welcomed by His Grace Kyr Jovan, Bishop of Lipljan, Vicar Bishop of the Serbian Patriarch, who informed him about the treasure of the Mother church of all Serbian churches.

Today, on the feast day of Holy Martyr Gregory of Armenia, after the Divine Liturgy which was served by Their Graces Bishops Jovan of Sumadija and Jovan of Lipljan with the clergy, a session of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church  commenced which was presided by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch. Members of the Committee of the Holy Assembly of Bishops for Kosovo and Metohija will later join the session, who arrived today and yesterday at the Mother of all Serbian Churches, and several other bishops as well.

Bishop Ignjatije at Lepavina monastery

The feast day of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist, on October 6, 2012 was celebrated at the monastery Lepavina with the Holy Hiearchal Liturgy, which was served by His Eminence Metropolitan Jovan of Zagreb-Ljubljana and His Grace Bishop Ignjatije of Branicevo with the concelebration of archimandrite Gavrilo (Vuckovic), head of the monastery of Lepavine, hieromonk Vasilije (Srbljan), brother of the Lepavina holy family, presbyter Radovan Dimitric, parish of Koprivnica, presbyter Aleksandar Tarabic, parish of Velika Poganica, deacon Nenad Radakovic from Pozarevac and deacon Branimir Jokic from Zagreb.
