Twenty years of episcopal service of Bishop Irinej of Backa

On the occasion of twentieth anniversary of service of Bishop Irinej on the throne of Bishops of Backa, on Thursday, December 23, 2010, a celebration was organized at Studio M in Novi Sad. This significant jubilee was marked with a retrospective of last two decades of life of the Church of God in Backa, sermon of Bishop Porfirije of Jegar and nice program.

Small blessing of Church in Denver

With the blessings of His Grace Maxim, Bishop of the Western American Serbian Diocese, V. Rev. Fr. Ilija Balach Dean of the Butte Deanery, conducted small church consecration service in Lakewood, Colorado. On the feast day of St. prophet Zachariah and Righteous Elizabeth (parents of St. John The Baptist) the first Serbian Orthodox church in Colorado, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, was opened.

Bishop Longin visits Galveston, Texas

After celebrating the Feast of the Entrance of the Mother of God on December 4, 2010, at the Stavropigial Monastery of the Nativity of the Mother of God in New Carlisle, Indiana, His Grace Bishop Longin traveled to Galveston, Texas, to take part in the ground-breaking of the new parish hall. The old hall, as well as many homes of the Parishioners of the Galveston Parish dedicated to Sts. Constantine and Helen, was destroyed by Hurricane Ike in September of 2008. After two years, more land has been purchased and the building of a new hall is planned.

Funeral of +Archpriest-Stavrophor Milan Savich

The earthly remains of Protojerej-Stavrofor Milan Savich arrived at New Gracanica Monastery in Third Lake, Illinois in the late afternoon of Tuesday, November 30, 2010 and were received at the Monastery Church by His Grace Bishop Longin of New Gracanica-Midwestern America, who, along with the priests and deacons present, served a Pomen.

32nd anniversary of SAJ of the Serbian Ministry of Interior

With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, His Grace Vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno participated yesterday in marking the 32nd anniversary of existence of the Special Anti-terrorist Unit (SAJ) of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia in their base in Batajnica.

First celebration of St. Nicholas Day in Pristina since 2004

 Priests who have come back to Pristina and who are living in this city, for the first time after March 17, 2004, in the presence of about fifty believers, in a restored church of St. Nicholas, served the Divine Liturgy on the feast day of this saint.
