His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received the  Archbishop of the Syrian-Jacobite Church in Sweden,  His Eminence Benjamin (Atas), at the Serbian Patriarchate on 14 June 2017.

Archbishop Benjamin expressed his gratitude to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the cordial reception during which they discussed various challenges and problems faced by Christians in the modern world.  The Serbian Patriarch  thanked His Eminence for the visit, wishing him, his faithful flock as well as his people abundant Divine blessings.

The Serbian Patriarchate, 14 June 2017 - His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received Her Excellency Mrs. Christine Moro, the Ambassador of the Republic of France to the Republic of Serbia.

Mrs. Moro expressed her gratitude to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the cordial reception during which they talked about the history and the cooperation of Serbian and French peoples.  The Serbian Patriarch thanked the esteemed guest for the visit and a very frutful cooperation during her diplomatic mandate in our country, and wished her all the best from the Lord in her further diplomatic mission.

Serbian Patriarchate, 14 June 2017 - His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received Her Excellency Mrs. Dr. Marina Jovicevic, Serbian Ambassador to Belgium, and Her Excellency Mrs. Zoranа Vlatković, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Slovenia.

The guests expressed their gratitude to the Head of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the cordial reception during which they discussed some aspects of cooperation between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia. The Serbian Patriarch thanked the distinguished guests for the visit , wishing  them abundant Divine blessings in their diplomatic missions.

Biography of Episcopus electus of Dalmatia Nikodim

The elected Bishop of Dalmatian Nikodim (Kosovic) was born on 15 April 1981 in Zadar, from parents who died in his early childhood.

He grew up together with his sister Danica, under the care of his uncle Nenad Kosovic, a well-known Benkovac professor and translator from Russian. He started Elementary school in Zadar, continued it in Benkovac in 1991 and ended at Dragocvet near Jagodina, Serbia, in 1995. Starting from 1991 he lived in the village Suljkovac n. Jagodina where he as a child, due to the civil war, went into exile, and in 1994 he together with his father and sister moved to live in Jagodina. He finished the Serbian Orthodox Seminary of Saint Arsenius of Srem in Sremski  Karlovci in 2000.

On Sunday, June 4th, Holy Trinity Cathedral of Pittsburgh welcomed His Grace Bishop Irinej to help celebrate its patronal feast day of Pentecost.  

Following the procession around the outside of the church, the Slavski kolach and koljivo were blessed.  Kumovi were Ray and Shirley Popovich. Following Divine Liturgy, a luncheon followed at Salvatore’s Events and Catering where this year’s five high school graduates and two college graduates were honored.

On the feast of the Third Finding of the Head of St. John the Baptist, on June 7, 2017, His Grace Bishop Joanikije of Budim and Niksic celebrated the Holy Liturgy in the memory-church at the Dola village in the Piva region.

Quite a great number of the clergy and hieromonks from this Diocese concelebrated, with the prayerful participation of numerous faithful people. During the Divine Liturgy the Rite of canonization of the Holy New Martyrs of the Piva was performed, following a decision of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church brought at their spring session, and consequently they have been included into the Diptych of saints.
