The fifth meeting of the Inter-Church Commission of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Croatian Bishops’ Conference was held at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica, Montenegro, on Wednesday the 7th and on Thursday the 8th of June 2017, the task of task was to jointly consider the role of Archbishop Alojzije Stepinac before, during and after the Second World war.
The theme of the meeting was "The Archbishop and Cardinal Stepinac and Communist persecution from 1945 to 1960."
Pentecost in Montana

On June 3rd, Saturday of Souls, the parish of St. Herman of Alaska in Kalispell Montana experienced the pentecostal joy of receiving our beloved hierarch and arch-pastor, bishop Maxim, for the celebration of the Divine Liturgy.
Being the eve of the great feast of Pentecost, the Liturgy felt doubly festal that day as the faithful of the Flathead Valley gathered in synaxis to pray for our departed and to recall and anticipate the great gift of the Holy Spirit.

On Pentecost Monday, the Pan-orthodox Liturgy was celebrated at St Sava’s Church in London.
The Eucharistic assembly was led by his Eminence Archbishop Gregorios of Thyateira and Great Britain of the Patriarchate of Constantinople and concelebrating with him were: Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh, Russian Orthodox Church, Bishop Dositey of Great Britain and Scandinavia, Serbian Orthodox Church, Archbishop of Dmanisi, Agarak-Tashiri, and Great Britain and Ireland: Zenon (Iaradzhuli), Auxiliary Bishop Ignatius (Muresan), Romanian Church, The Right Reverend Athanasios (Theocharous), Bishop of Tropaeou The Most Reverend Kallistos (Ware), Metropolitan of Diokleia, a Professor at Oxford University, was also present at this great event of the pan-orthodox union.

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received President of the Union of Education Workers of Serbia, Ms. Jasna Jankovic, at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade, on 7 June 2017
Ms. Jankovic expressed gratitude to the Head of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the cordial reception during which they discussed the still unresolved employment status of teachers of religious education - catechists in the schools of the Republic of Serbia. Patriarch Irinej thanked the esteemed guest for the visit, care and efforta, wishing her all the best from the Lord.

His Eminence Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfilohije, with the assistance of the clergy and prayerful participation of many of the faithful, officiated the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral church of St. John Vladimir in Bar on the occasion of the patron feast of St. John Vladimir, 3 June 2017.
The Metropolitan delivered a sermon on the significance of the Birtday event of the Church of Christ – Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles on the Pentecost. He pointed out that the vertical of human beings and the vertical of human history, the history of the world has been, is and will remain forever and ever in the carrying of the Cross according to the words of the Lord: Who wants to follow me, let him deny himself and take up his cross on him and let him follow me, said Metropolitan Amfilohije.
Chairman of the State Duma received by the Serbian Patriarch

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received His Excellency Mr. Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Parliament of the Russian Federation at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on 5 June 2017.
Mr. Volodin expressed gratitude to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the cordial reception during which they discussed the Russian-Serbian relations throughout history up to the present day. The Serbian Patriarch Irinej thanked the distinguished guests for the visit, wishing him, his associates and the brotherly Russian people every Divine blessing.
