The fourth meeting of the Joint Commission of the Croatian Bishops’ Conference and the Serbian Orthodox Church was held at the Bishop's Palace in Pozega, Croatia, on the 20th and 21st April 2017, the task of which was to jointly consider the figure of Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac before, during and after the Second World War. The theme of the meeting was "The attitude of Archbishop Stepinac towards the Serbian Orthodox Church from 1941 to 1945".
Conciliar celebration of Easter in Skopje

On the third Easter day, His Beatitude Jovan, Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje, celebrated the Holy Liturgy in the chapel of Saint Nectarios of Pentapolj in Skopje. His concelebrant was the His Grace Cyril, Bishop of Abdia from the Ecumenical Patriarchate, who delivered a sermon on the Gospel reading and distributed Holy Communion to the faithful.
Resurrection of Christ solemnly celebrated in the Ohrid Archdiocese
22. April 2017 - 11:22The Feast of Resurrection of Christ was celebrated with great joy and heartfelt prayers in the Orthodox Ohrid Archiocese, despite prosecutions on religious grounds.
His Beatitude Jovan, Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje, officiated the Divine Liturgy in the stavropygial monastery of St. John Chrysostom in Bitola. His Grace Joakim, Bishop of Polog and Kumanovo and Locum tenens of Debar-Kicevo, celebrated the Liturgy in Kumanovo, while His Grace Marko, Bishop of Bregalnica and Locum tenens of Bitola, served the Easter Liturgy in Stip. His Grace David, Bishop of Stobi and Locum tenens of Strumica, celebrated the Holy Liturgy in Skopje.
Anglican Bishop of Gibraltar received by Serbian Patriarch
20. April 2017 - 9:15His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received Rt. Revd. Robert Innes, Anglican Bishop of Gibraltar in Europe, at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on 19 April 2017.
The high dignitary was accompanied by Rev. Robin Fox, Anglican chaplain in Belgarde. Bishop Robert Ines congratulated the Feast of feasts of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and expressed deep gratitude to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the warm and friendly reception during which they discussed various aspects of ecclesial life both in Europe and specifically in Serbia. On his side, the Serbian Patriarch thanked the Rt. Revd. Bishop for the visit and said his best wishes for the high gueast on the occasion of the greatest Christian feast-day.
The Serbian Prime Minister received by the Serbian Patriarch
18. April 2017 - 15:37His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received Mr. Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Minister and President electus of the Republic of Serbia on 17 April 2017 at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Mr. Nikola Selakovic.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vucic congratulated the most joyous Christian Feast of feasts, the glorious Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church and expressed his gratitude for the warm and friendly reception during which they discussed various aspects of the life of people in Serbia and some topics of general interest.
