The Archbishop Justin visits the Church of the Resurrection

On Wednesday morning, 20th April/3rd May 2017, the Most Reverend Archbishop of Canterbury of the Anglican Church Mr. Justin Welby visited the Horrendous Golgotha and the Holy Sepulchre at the Church of the Resurrection, escorted by a team of his associates and entourage, among whom was the Archbishop of the Anglican Church in Jerusalem Most Rev. Suheil Dawani.

The Most Reverend Archbishop of Canterbury was received at the Horrendous Golgotha by His Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos,  who was escorted by the Most Reverend Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantina, Dragouman Archimandrite Mattheos, the Master of Ceremonies Archimandrite Bartholomew, the Assistant Sacristan Archimandrite Polykarpos and other Hagiotaphite and Templar Fathers. Translation of the relics of St. Nicholas (Velimirovich)

On Wednesday May 3rd (April 20th) we commemorate Translation of the relics (1991) of St. Nicholas (Velimirovich) of Ochrid and Zhicha (1956) from America to Serbia.

His All-Holiness Bartholomew in Cairo, Egypt

On April 27, 2017, His All-Holiness Bartholomew, Archbishop of Constantinople-New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch, met with the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb, and attended an Interreligious Conference at Al-Azhar University, where he delivered an address in English on the topic “Religions and Peace”.

On Friday 28th April 2017, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, gave a warm welcome to His Holiness the Archbishop of Constantinople, New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomaios I, at the Holy Monastery of St George in Old Cairo.

The Ecumenical Patriarch is visiting Egypt, because of his participation in the deliberations of the International Peace Conference, of the Al-Azhar Foundation.

Pascha in New York

Although the Saint Sava Serbian Cathedral community in New York City lost its church in the fire on Pascha May 1, 2016, with God’s grace, thanks to the brotherly love of the Greek and the Russian people, it continued uninterruptedly to conduct its services.

Both the Greek and the Russian Churches opened the doors of their temples to the faithful of theSaint Sava parish. One of those churches, where the Serbs regularly conduct their Sunday and weekly services, is a beautiful Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Eleftherios. This year the Serbs and Greeks gathered together here for the Great and Holy Friday service. Leading the service was His Grace Bishop Irinej, accompanied by V. Rev. Stavrophor Dr. Albert Demos, parish priest at the Greek Church of Saint Eleftherios, V. Rev. Stavrophor Dr. Zivojin Jakovljevic, Saint Sava Cathedral Dean, and V. Rev. Vladislav Radujkovic, parish priest at the Saint Sava Cathedral.

Holy Resurrection Parish Feast Day Celebrated in Lebanon

We are grateful to God for this blessed day, when we celebrated once again our 101st Annual Church Patronal Feast Day Celebration (Slava).

It was a special event not just for our Parishioners, who worked very hard to make this day a success, but for all our guests who came to join us and participated in our Parish celebration. Most of all we are grateful to God and His Grace, our Bishop Irinej who came and served the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy followed by the Festal Procession around the temple and Cutting of the Festal Bread (Slavski Kolach).
